What this article is covering up on is how a California Democract would have no problem in invoking the 14 amendment. Many supporters are saying that the language empowers the president to raise the debet ceiling. President Obama says "I will not have another debate with this Congress over whether or not they should pay the bills that they’ve already racked up through the laws that they passed.” What he means is he made his choice and it will stay that way.Pelosi, on the other hand is not agreeing with Obama. The administration belives that the president does not have the power by the 14th amendment to ignore the debt ceiling.

Gabby Montanez's insight:

Article

This article is talking about how President Obama is willing to give the responsibilty Congress to be in charge of the 14th Amendment at this moment. "President Obama was not convinced that invoking the 14th amendment was a winning argument."“I think the Constitution is clear and I think this idea that the Congress gets to vote twice on whether to pay for it has appropriated is crazy,” Clinton said. Clinton forsees that a little change on the amendment would be out of this world.Until the amendment is changed the power it has is still indefinite.

Supporters of this amendment felt that it would include all of the provisions of the bill of rights. The Immunities clause did not apply all of the provisions right away. The federal courts can get involved with a case if someones protected rights came into action. It also says that every citizen has "equal protection of laws."

To sum up each section,

Section 1 is telling us that everyone is born with equal rights and no state will take away anyone's life, liberty, or property.

Section 2 says that in Congress each state will be represented based upon the size and population, so that every person has a voice.
