The pair discovered that burglars had used a drill to break into their apartment and had stolen several items, including Christmas gifts intended for Miles. Officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), who responded to her report, took it upon themselves to make things right, and returned to the pair's home the next day with gifts for Steele and her son.
