Sandy Whelan, ADC, QDCS's curator insight, April 25, 7:13 PM

It's not so difficult to fool someone if you are just asking general questions or talking about memories of the past. But do you know how to spot the signs?  How many times does your loved one give you a roundabout answer when you have asked a question? Or have they said things like I don't really keep up with the news?

Working as a family team in support of an aging relative - Alzheimer's and Dementia

Working as a family team in support of an aging relative - Alzheimer's and Dementia | Alzheimer's Support | Scoop.it
In terms of caregiving, most of the articles available discuss the “caregiver”, that is, the singular person who provides the care for an aging relative, which is most typically an aging parent.
Sandy Spencer's insight:

It would be wonderful if the family worked together to make decisions and care for a family member with dementia. But of all disease processes,  sometimes it seems that dementia is the most difficult to get family members to agree and stand united in the care of their loved one.

Sandy Spencer's insight:

I can't even imagine how heartbreaking it would be to have a spouse with Alzheimer's. Not so much the caring, but the watching as it takes it's toll on the memory.
