Angry protesters protest to stop the government shut down in October. Many workers that worked for uh government where not getting payed because they did not have work for 3 weeks. The workers complained that they need thire jobs back for money. Not only where the workers upset but also the veterans not being slowed in to national parks.

One of the parts of amendment 1 is freedom of assembly meaning you can get toget here with a huge group of people to protest anything you want. You can have a rally for as long as you want as long as you dont do anything illegal. The first amendment is  one of the best rights citizens have.

In this news article 1 million truckers stopped business to  protest as top to Obama Care.  All the trucks that took place in this protest stopped their trucks in front of the White House refusing to start the trucks up again hoping  to get some attention to stop Obama Care. The truckers stopped business for 3 days.

Protesters march in washington against NSA for spying. Many people held up signs that stated end big brother or stop mass spying. It is unlawful for government to be spying on the Americans. The organized campaign was called "stop watching us". Over he past few months they learned so much about the abuse of spying on us the government created.

In this scene of Forrest Gump it show Forest at a rally for peace. This is a perfect example for amendment  1 assembly. These  hipys are having  a proteset to end the war for world peace. Amendment 1 allows you to freedom of assembly meaning you can do have a huge rally as long as you don't do anything illegal.

Veterans marched on Sunday in Washington in protest of the partial government shutdown that has kept them and other Americans from visiting war memorials across the country, with support from several star conservatives.
Alyssa Harris's insight:

This protest is for the veterans memorial that was shut down because of the government shutdown that took place in October. Many veterans where unable to visit this memorial. As  Texas Sen said " Our veterans should be above political  games " meaning the veterans deserve more then being shut out of a place so sacred  to their hearts. some citizens where so upset over this shut down they felt it's was big enough to start a protest. That is an excellent example of using amendment 1 to your advantage.

In Huston Texas mothers from different schoolse a protesting against guns after the many tragic shootinga that have taken place threw out the last few years mothers all over Texas feel no one should carry a gun around. Having there children help with the protest they held up signs with catchy slogans to change the gun law in Texas.

The first amendment to the bill of rights gives you freedom of speech freedom of the press and assembly basically you can say what you want when you want where you want. You can state your opinion in the news paper you can speak you opinion or create a group to protest your opinion.
