Twitter Teaches You How to Hashtag | Allistelling reading list | Scoop.it
Users can join any conversation on Twitter by adding the appropriate hashtag -- Twitter teaches us how to choose the best one with this cool infographic.
Pete Rorabaugh's insight:

Interesting that Twitter wants to "teach" us how to use hashtags, but I am much more interesting in finding out how users hack and rebuild network functionality beyond or behind the intentions of the builders. Thanks anyway, Twitter. We'll keep hacking.

Jeanne Law Bohannon's curator insight, September 2, 2013 10:10 AM

I agree that social media has changed the way Millennials write and communicate.  However, many of my students still prefer "old school" printed materials instead of electronic copies.

Pete Rorabaugh's comment, September 2, 2013 10:14 AM
Indeed. I agree. Similar to the condition of many traditionally "schooled" students preferring a skill and drill classroom at first because that's what's most familiar to them. I look at developing Twitter literacy, as one example, as our work against skills which are developed to benefit institutions and systems and turning them into newly insightful and re-discover-able methodologies.
Jeanne Law Bohannon's comment, September 2, 2013 2:53 PM
D2L is a prime example of a technology that is worth less to students than it is to the institution.
