Advocating for people-centered economics and  a new type of leadership -

"...the plasticity of the human brain is an unbelievable lever that points us to our ultimate leverage points as human beings: paying attention to our attention. It calls for a new type of leadership work that focuses on the cultivation of our inner instruments of knowing. But what would it mean to cultivate the neuroplasticity of the collective brain at the level of a whole system? That would seem to require a new type of leadership work that we all need to learn to engage in.

What Truly Successful People Know That You Don't

Six research-based strategies to help you overcome barriers to success
ozziegontang's insight:

Mens sana in corpore sano.  You don't have a vision, the vision has you.  Be accountable. People choose problems they can't solve rather than choices or decisions they do not want to make. Reading the work of Lee Thayer brings much of this into focus especially his first book: Leadership: Thinking Being Doing.  How I think influences who I am, who I am influences what I do. What I do create my habits. And in the end, as in the beginning, my habits create me.  Get right the thinking and the practice of life-long learning and being more competent each day and I may have a chance to "Take a message to Garcia."

Mindfulness arrives in the workplace

Mindfulness arrives in the workplace | All things Vistage | Scoop.it

MIndfulness arrives in the workplace when people practice being mindful.

ozziegontang's insight:

Mindfulness is a state of mind where I am in the present moment and in a state of nonjudgmental acceptance.

I am not my thoughts and feelings. I have thoughts and feelings.

Feel with your heart and don't forget to take your brain along is a nice mantra. For how I think influences who I am. Who I am influences what I do. What I do/practice creates the habits that in turn create me.  Get my thinking right and I have a good opportunity to create the habits I need to be mindful living in gratitude, appreciation and acceptance of what is.
