Hello and Happy Friday. Hope everyone is planning an awesome weekend with lots of fun activities. Today I want to share a really bonehead thing that I did. Sometimes I swear I d lose my head if it wasn t screwed on. Internet marketers tend to buy their share of domain names. I m certainly no different and have my share of them. What I do when I buy them is look for coupons. It s not uncommon for me to get .com domains for as low as .50 each. The last few times I bought them, however, I noticed that my purchase price was reverting back to the regular price despite my use of the coupon. It occurred to me that perhaps because I was a repeat customer that they weren t allowing me the discount price. So what did I do? I started creating multiple accounts and thought that would work. No deal. Long story short. I can t believe I m revealing my stupidity publicly but that s ok. That s how we all learn, right? So here s what happened. I grabbed a coupon code just no
Mmmmm hmmmm, yeah that s right. Candace Chira is ahead of schedule with completing her tasks for this blogging challenge. That s what happens to someone when they stay focused and don t spend 7 hours a day checking e-mails and Facebook. I sure hope I m not boring everyone with all the talk that I ve been doing about focus, this blogging challenge that I m doing, productivity, yada yada yada. My hope in doing this is that you too will give up the bad habits and start taking more action. Believe me, if I can do it so can you. This post is coming a bit late today and I ll share with you what I ve been doing today. For around a year and a half or so I ve had an autoresponder which I didn t use very much. Month in and month out I paid the bill but I d say most of the time I didn t do anything with it. What the hell was I supposed to write to my tiny list? I wasn t taking much action other than moving my mouse around as I jumped from site to site. Nobody would want to hear
Hello. Hello. Wanted to get this post out before I get to feeling too lazy. It s Saturday afternoon here in Chicago. We ve got more snow and cold. I got tons done today and now I m beginning to feel like taking it easy. As I m committed to being focused however, I know that I will not allow myself go and layabout before I get this post out. Today I want to share a couple of cool resources with all of you. I hope that you ll find them as useful as I do and that they ll be of help. Traffic Before you can get any conversions you have to have traffic to your site. This is something that I know well. lol. As this site is newly relaunched and also because I really didn t know a whole heck of a lot when I first started it, traffic is something that I m working on a lot. One person who knows tons about this is Ana Hoffman over at Traffic Generation Cafe. She has a wonderful free report on traffic generation that you can get, information on all the latest trends going on
I wanted to share a quick video about my new ebook. Check it out below and definitely feel free to comment and share. One other thing, this is Day 2 of the blogging challenge. Happy to announce that I m still on track. lol. Tonight my computer has to go over to my computer guy so tomorrow might be the only day that I have to make up.
Excerpted from article on MakeUseOf: "It’s estimated that around 70 percent of the Pinterest user base is female, with men being nothing more than bit-part players on the site.
Thankfully some enterprising folk saw a gap in the market and seized upon it, and sites which are like Pinterest but aimed solely at men popped up across the InterWebs. What follows is a list of what we consider to be the four best “Pinterest for men” websites.
- Manteresting: Manteresting clearly exists to offer a place for men to pin images of things that interest them. Rather than “pin” things, you “nail” them to a “workbench.” Content can be sorted by category, while there is also a ‘Random’ button and lists of the top posts made Today, This Week, This Month, and All Time.
- Gentlemint: Gentlemint looks more akin to the new Digg than Pinterest, but it offers a similar experience to the latter. Rather than “pin” things, you “tack” them, because tacking is more masculine than pinning, I guess. Gentlemint looks classier than most of the other Pinterest clones, but it essentially does the same thing as the rest of them do.
- Dudepins: Dudepins makes no secret of the fact it’s a Pinterest clone, just one that caters solely for men. Women aren’t banned, of course, but the content on offer has an especially manly feel to it. Rather than “pin” things you “pin up” images and videos. A quick look at the homepage reveals hipsters, interesting designs, and lots of clothes. Which leads me to suspect this is more for refined gentlemen than laddish dudes, despite the name. Content can be sorted by category, with a button specifically bringing that which is trending to the front page.
- Tapiture: Tapiture has a distinctly Facebook feel to it, which will immediately put off those people who hate Mark Zuckerberg and co. It’s no surprise to find that joining via Facebook is heavily recommended, though there is an email option as well. Rather than “pin” things you “tap” content, including animated GIFs and SoundCloud audio..."
Today s post is a little short but I wanted to make sure I got something posted. It was kind of funny because I was thinking about what I should write about and then I came across a great article that I think you all will enjoy. One of my favorite social media platforms is Google+. From personal experience I can tell you that I get a lot more engagement with a lot less effort compared to Facebook. Google+ absolutely brings in more traffic to this site as well. I ve been making it a point to work on my presence on Google+ because of the benefits that I m seeing from this platform. If you find yourself wanting to take advantage of the many opportunities that Google+ can provide for your business than you will want to take a look at this article from Ian Cleary at the Social Media Examiner site. The article, 3 Google+ Tools that Take Your Marketing to a New Level, highlights 3 tools that help you in building your presence more effectively and getting more out of your Google+ experience
I m having a bit of a lazy Sunday here or rather I should say I m feeling lazy. At the same time I knew I MUST get this blog post done or risk falling back into bad habits. Yikes! I also know that just because I feel a certain way it doesn t mean I should necessarily act on those feelings. If I followed every feeling I d ever had I d be sporting a big skull tattoo on my upper right arm because back when I was a teen I really wanted one. Thank God I never did that! There is something that I want to urge everyone to do, especially if you re new to online businesses and whatnot. Get a mentor that you follow religiously! Now I know a lot of people say this so it s not like I m telling you something brand new here. The difference with what I m sharing is that I m going to tell you what happened to me by NOT having a mentor that I followed closely. Now check it out. There s tons and tons and tons of information and shiny objects out there. What ended up happening to me a
This is day 4 of the blogging/productivity challenge but for me it s day 3 since I had to skip yesterday. What I m happy, happy, happy to report is that I didn t skip yesterday because I lost focus or anything like that. My poor baby (aka my laptop) had to go in for a new part. Fortunately for me my computer guy only lives a few blocks away and so he was able to get it back to me in a day. By now I ve been known to have thrown in the towel on many challenges/resolutions/plans. In fact, there have been times when I ve thrown in the towel on the day the challenge started. lol. Not a nice thing to have to admit about myself but it s true. Two things have been helping me with staying focused for the new year. You might find these helpful but let me warn you, they aren t any type of earth shattering secret. Drumroll please 1) Staying off of Facebook and e-mail. I m not saying that I don t get on at all, but I m making it a point to try and wait until the end of the day to che
