Thought Crane's insight:

A fine point has been made in this post.

I have been pondering the use of  technology in the classroom and how to keep it real. As exciting as all this wonderful tech is, I am resisting the urge to get swept away by my desire to try it  ALL..... Trying it ALL is not practical, I know, or even possible. All these digital tools sound like fantastic ideas to engage students in the classroom! The Star Wars crawl creator was a lot of fun! The avatars sound like fun, and the sign-creator could be used for many things, including classroom enterprise and literacy-based activities.

I can see a lot more applications for these tools beyond introducing lessons and sharing objectives. Great blog post!

Math class needs a makeover

Math class needs a makeover | Thinking Education | Scoop.it
Today's math curriculum is teaching students to expect -- and excel at -- paint-by-numbers classwork, robbing kids of a skill more important than solving problems: formulating them. In his talk, Dan Meyer shows classroom-tested math exercises that prompt students to stop and think.
