Von Canon zu Fujifilm – Eine 29 Jahre währende Reise | Qimago-Mehrdad Abedi | All about photography | Scoop.it
Mehrdad Abedi's insight:

I'm an official Fujifilm X Photographer | Thomas Menk | All about photography | Scoop.it

Launched on 20th June 2012, the X-Photographers website is an growing online gallery of images shot by photographers who use FUJIFILM X series cameras. It displays the high quality output and creativity that X series cameras offer photographers. Visitors get a true feel for what X series premium digital cameras can offer and why they are loved by so many photographers. Since end of December I'm part of this elitist circle: I'm an offical X-Photographer :-) Thank you very much Fuji. This is a great honor for me!

Fuji X-Trans Flare / Ghosting Issue | Nasim Mansurov

Fuji X-Trans Flare / Ghosting Issue | Nasim Mansurov | All about photography | Scoop.it

I love Fuji X-series cameras – they have exceptionally good image quality, superb handling and they are just a lot of fun to shoot with. I have completed reviewing all Fuji X cameras that I have had during the last few months, including the X-Pro1, X-E1, X-M1 and the X100S. In short, an amazing array of cameras from Fuji. One issue that I overlooked while reviewing the cameras though, was the spotted ghosting issue caused by the X-Trans sensor in rare situations, as demonstrated below (shot with the Fuji 60mm f/2.4 Macro lens). Since I am currently working on reviewing all Fuji X lenses, I had to go through each lens to test things like optical performance, chromatic aberrations, vignetting, distortion and flare / ghosting. During my flare / ghosting test, which involves photographing a scene with the sun in the frame at different apertures, I noticed a very interesting phenomenon – each lens that I used would produce spotted ghosts that looked very defined in a straight square pattern, in addition to the lens ghosts that we normally see from lenses. At first, I thought it was a lens issue. But then as I tested one lens after another, whether it was a native Fuji or a Zeiss lens, every single one of them showed the same pattern. After a couple of lenses, I realized that these patterns are not from optical characteristics of the X lenses or the types of coatings used in them, but rather internal reflections involving the X-Trans sensor......

Fuji X Secrets – Fotografieren mit dem Fujifilm X-System

Fuji X Secrets – Fotografieren mit dem Fujifilm X-System | All about photography | Scoop.it

5 Myths about moving to a full frame camera | PhotographyTalk

5 Myths about moving to a full frame camera | PhotographyTalk | All about photography | Scoop.it

Everywhere you look there is this general idea that full frame cameras are the best choice. They are better, they are the choice of professionals, blah, blah. This entire concept has been going on for more than ten years, but technology has been constantly changing. So, is the full frame sensor/camera still the ideal piece of equipment? We have gathered some of the most popular myths about switching to full frame and we have challenged them. The reason we are doing this is not because we don’t like full frame cameras, but because we believe the options have greatly increased......

Flashing people with Fujifilm X100 | Paul Schlemmer

Flashing people with Fujifilm X100 | Paul Schlemmer | All about photography | Scoop.it

For me, it all started three years ago, when I as an 18yr old youngster decided to dropout from a highschool and although afraind, made that leap of faith. To become the guy who makes a living with his brain&camera who never actually works cause he loves what he's doing. Yeah, that was a big moment for me. The day in April 2013 when I sold some Canon gear and bough used Fujifilm X100 was another  big one. Cause this camera, it isn't just mix of a technical features (which most of them are superb and some of them really sucks) it's a tool of interesting psychology, legacy and simple courage. It's a real personification of that "make pictures, not excuses" statement.......

The Street Collective Vol. 1 for Free on PhotoWhoa | Freddy Martinez

The Street Collective Vol. 1 for Free on PhotoWhoa | Freddy Martinez | All about photography | Scoop.it
This is the Street Collective.

This is work you must learn from. A collection of the world's best street, documentary, and fine art photographers. It is energetic. Gritty. In your face and brutally honest. It is a genre of photography not for the faint of heart. Or the unsure. These are images that look for that decisive moment in the chaos. In a lot of ways street photography is one of the most accessible genres to shoot. That’s because there’s no set path, or widely accepted standard. Yet there are some photographers who never stop searching for that perfect moment.....

Thomas Menk's curator insight, September 20, 2013 1:17 AM

From our reader Freddy:

We've just spent months creating a free e-book with insights from several extremely talented street/doc/fine art photographers. We entitled it "The Street Collective."

The Street Collective was the result of many hours interviewing top photographers such as Bryan Formhals (of LPV Magazine) and World Press Award winner Laura Pannack about their process and how they achieve their unique looks. We did this to help our audience learn what it takes to make great street photography. It's completely free, and we're trying to get the word out about this.

You can see the free e-book here and download your own copy:

https://www.photowhoa.com/street

You could also check out our interviews on our blog:

Thx Freddy for your suggestion. Great work!
