mike rhoades: Goals vs Desires or: Why We're all so Pissed Off

mike rhoades: Goals vs Desires or: Why We're all so Pissed Off | All About Coaching | Scoop.it

Take a step back and look at the circumstances in your life.  What would you call goals and what would you call desires?  What do you have control over and what don't you have control over?  If you don't have any control over it; don't let it control you.

Ariana Amorim's insight:

Note from the post: "This is primarily a writing blog.  And this idea of goals vs desires has really become interesting to me as I craft my characters.  The idea of misplaced goals and the frustration that comes from that has been really valuable to me as I map out the motivations for my characters and the good or bad choices they make.  Have you had problems with any of your characters and fleshing out believable motivations?  Maybe exploring what your character's goals/desires are will help?"

No matter how hard social media tries to be your BFF when it comes to marketing, it still can’t outperform email. Sorry Facebook, we know you meant well, but when 74 percent of Facebook posts are completely missed versus only 22 percent of emails that are missed (according to ReturnPath), it’s impossible to give social media the gold medal in marketing.
