Our life is a prototype in constant refinement

Our life is a prototype in constant refinement | All About Coaching | Scoop.it

How can I build a path for the growth of innovation in companies that take us to the welfare and happiness of the people and not exclusively for those who are shareholders of these companies?

(...)

Tim Brown presents five ways to practice in our daily lives the principles of Design Thinking:

1 – Be optimistic, collaborative and generative.

2 – Think of life as a prototype.

3 – Don´t ask “what?” ask “why?”.

4 – Demand divergent options.

5 -Once a day, deeply observe the ordinary.

These are some important points to reflect and apply in our daily life if we want to evolve towards sustainable well-being. But they are not just notes for life outside of work. Are notes for ours 24 hours and must be adapted or suited to working environments where we operate, that is, according to our role in organizations.

Ariana Amorim's insight:

We can learn how to practice design thinking principles both at work and at home. We can do more than just design... we can live design.

A Coaching Approach to Identifying Your Ideal Clients ‹ http://coachfederation.org/blog | All About Coaching | Scoop.it

When I ask the question – who is your ideal client?  What I hear, after the long thoughtful pause, is “I don’t really know who my ideal client is” or “I want to help everyone.” Even considering the idea of having to say no to some clients in order to focus on others can be incredibly uncomfortable.

The thing about us coaches is many of us are optimists.  We sincerely want to support many, many people and it may feel selfish, or that we are missing out, if we have to choose.

Well, it’s time to choose.

Have You Heard These Excuses From Your Clients? A Menu. ‹ http://coachfederation.org/blog | All About Coaching | Scoop.it

When we try to form and keep habits, we often search for loopholes, for justifications that will excuse us from keeping this particular habit or action in this particular situation. We’re not making a mindful exception, we’re not thoughtfully deciding our actions in advance—we’re invoking a loophole, to tell ourselves, “I’m off the hook.”

Often, these loopholes flit through our minds so quickly that we don’t even realize that we’re invoking them.

However, if we catch can ourselves invoking a loophole—which is easier said than done—we give ourselves the opportunity to reject it.

I love studying every habit-formation strategy, but I must say, the Strategy of Loophole-Spotting is a very amusing strategy. Loopholes are just so funny—and so ingenious!

Which loopholes do you hear most often?

A Coaching Approach to Business Development for Coaches ‹ http://coachfederation.org/blog | All About Coaching | Scoop.it

The number one challenge facing many coaches can be summed up in four words: Fear of business development.

I have met hundreds of coaches over the years–I have had virtual tea with many around the world–and they all smile with a sense of recognition when I share my response to their question, “Do you have any guidance for me?”

I watch as it lands when I ask them, “How are you at business development? Who are your potential clients? How many potential clients do you meet with each week?”
