Avoid life’s most common regrets - We know what people most often regret before they die:

1. I wish I’d had the courage to live a life true to myself, not the life others expected of me.
2. I wish I didn’t work so hard.
3. I wish I’d had the courage to express my feelings.
4. I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends.
5. I wish that I had let myself be happier.

How To Live A Happy Life: Louis CK Explains The Science

How To Live A Happy Life: Louis CK Explains The Science | All About Coaching | Scoop.it
how to live a happy life
Ariana Amorim's insight:

"The world is changing quickly. To succeed in a world like this you need to adapt to all that change — and fast.

The problem is that while “adaptation” is a good thing, it’s also pretty much the same as “taking things for granted.”

Taking things for granted is the opposite of gratitude.

And gratitude is one of the few things that nearly all the research shows is part of how to live a happy life."

Fill a journal or a jar with gratitude

Fill a journal or a jar with gratitude | All About Coaching | Scoop.it
I am overwhelmed in waves sometimes. For a brief moment or two, often when I certainly don't expect to be, I'm awash in beauty or sound or thoughts.
Ariana Amorim's insight:

"This new idea, courtesy of Patron of the Arts non-profit in California, is this: On a slip of paper, write things throughout the year for which you might utter a silent (or otherwise) “thank you,” then slip it into a jar. (My added suggestion: Write down the date, too). Do one or more every day, or throughout your days as they enter your life.

At the end of the year (or throughout it when good things seem way out of reach) open the jar and pull out each one. Wow. Blessings abound."
