“What’s holding you back?” is the fundamental question everyone should answer BEFORE setting goals, objectives and resolutions for the New Year. This applies to your personal life and your professional life. I know nothing of your personal life, but I do know a thing or two about business life, having lived there more years than I care to remember.

 

 

“What’s holding you back?” isn’t as easy a question as it might seem. The intent of the query is not to unleash your frustrations about insufficient budgets, unreasonable customers, cantankerous bosses, or endless project lists – not that these matters are unimportant or should be overlooked. The operative word in the question is “YOU.” What are YOU going to do about the factors that are limiting your potential or constraining your ability to reach for the stars without ending up with a handful of mud?

Não se dá, às vezes, atenção suficiente à qualidade dos objetivos. No decorrer do seu desenvolvimento, a PNL voltou-se mais para as crenças e valores dando-se assim maior atenção a aspetos ecológicos, ao bem-estar da pessoa como sistema e à sua relação com um sistema mais abrangente. Mas é só na terceira geração, segundo a própria denominação de Dilts, que nos concentramos plenamente nos aspetos da identidade e na relação com o “campo” que nos ultrapassa e do qual  fazemos parte. A qualidade de um objetivo pode assim ser medida na vivência subjetiva da conexão do indivíduo (ou da organização) com um nível de informação superior que orienta e dá sentido à vida.

A diferença entre "objetivos carismáticos" e "objetivos socialmente corretos" acompanhada de metáforas poderosas. Uma boa leitura.

Inviting students to write their end-of-year legacy at the start of the school year is one of the most powerful and efficient social-emotional and character development (SECD) interventions you can do for students, grades 5-12. First, you get to teach them about the concept of "legacy," and "reputation." You get to introduce them to the idea of being a person of character and deciding what kind of character they would like to have. Second, you start a conversation about character and accomplishment in the classroom, as kids can share their legacy statements and then you can raise the question, how can you support each other in accomplishing these important goals?
