All those small sentences which interfere in our mind and contribute to self-sabotage mechanisms are named “Limiting Beliefs” in NLP ( NeuroLinguistic Programming).

The Limiting Beliefs are generally acquired during childhood, before the age of 7, but can also be the consequence of later experiences.

They influence directly the behavior, performance, communication and are strengthened in the course of negative experiences.
