This morning, Robyn and I got ready to head to campus for her work. I typically work from campus when she works at Bloom Sugar Bloom. When I went out to start the car, the battery was dead and I saw a car light had been ...

A good genuine battery story
This sort of experience is what happens to thousands of motorists every year. You cannot blame them really, as the old car battery has been a loyal servant to them for four or five years now and has never let them down yet. You can bet though that when it does let them down, it will be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
One of the secrets to preventing this happening is to make sure that your local garage actually tests your battery, when you have the car serviced. If there is any doubt about the condition of the old battery, then have it replaced, a no brainer as they now say. In the old days, motorists would charge up their battery as soon as the first signs of the battery been flat occurred, you know the thing a sluggish start up on a cold morning?.
They would take the battery off the car every night a charge it up through the night, hoping to make it last just a little bit longer and to be truthful it would probably work. The problem with the modern cars is that the engines and electrics are much different to the older type cars of say ten years ago (and before). Modern cars have to apply to strict emission controls, that are mostly controlled by the cars electrics and therefor the battery.
The upshot of this is that the battery is under a terrible pressure to perform and once the battery has died it cannot be resurrected and will need replacing. This is way it is always the best practise to have the battery checked on every service and try to make sure that the garage gives you a report about the state that your battery is in.
Hi I would like to introduce myself. I have worked in the Garage and tyre and Battery business now for 40 years. I worked for a couple of national tyre companies before starting my first business. I now own a company here in the UK called Pellon Tyre and Auto-centre, and I am a keen blogger about anything to do with cars and their related products that will help my business.
