Victorian regions hit by drug crime increase amid ice ‘epidemic’

Victorian regions hit by drug crime increase amid ice ‘epidemic’ | Alcohol & other drug issues in the media | Scoop.it
DRUG crime is soaring at alarming levels across regional Victoria due to a saturation of the drug ice in country towns, it is claimed.
ReGenUC's insight:

Thanks to the Herald Sun for using the quotation marks.

We know rural towns are really struggling with this issue, but as the most recent national data shows, while use of Ice is increasing as a proportion of use of all amphetamine type substances, it is not the 'pandemic' described by the ACC earlier this year.

The findings of the 2013 National Household Drug Survey are available here: http://www.aihw.gov.au/alcohol-and-other-drugs/ndshs/. You can read the full report, or see the key findings about stimulants at the bottom of the page.
