As with any emerging practice or drug type, there are still plenty of unknowns. There will always be potential harms and it's important that experiences like yours are shared to help identify risks to others. Thanks for sharing :)

It's a shame on all concerned that it often has to take a public health crisis to overcome the usual opposition to evidence based harm reduction approaches.  Hopefully, support for harm reduction will now continue in Indiana and spread to other states.

The ice epidemic is Australia’s very worst history repeating itself (NSW) | Alcohol & other drug issues in the media | Scoop.it
I was nine years old when my local state member was shot twice in the chest and left to die in the driveway of his suburban, red brick home.
ReGenUC's insight:

Yes, the language is overblown, but the core points here are sound: there is community memory of the impacts of the 'heroin epidemic' in the 90s, methamphetamine dependence is not just affecting one social group and there is a need for genuine action.  As public concern about heroin contributed to some genuine progress in Australia's adoption of evidence-based policy responses, hopefully we'll see some genuine progress from the national task force on methamphetamine.
