“Sleigh bells ring. Are you listening? In the lane snow is glistening. A beautiful sight, we re happy tonight. Walking in a winter wonderland” If this paints the perfect picture to your ideal wedding scene, you should consider having a Winter Wonderland themed wedding. Not sure where to begin? Don’t worry, we at A. JAFFE have compiled a list of ways to add an infusion of winter glamour to your special day. 1. Pick a Winter Location: The sky is the limit when it comes to picking the location for your winter themed wedding. You can choose a venue and decorate with winter pizzazz. Or, choose an outdoor location that decorates itself. Some places to consider are: a ski lodge, rustic estate, etc. 2. Pick a Date & Save-a-Date: We believe small weddings are acceptable near Christmas. This will help to minimize any conflicts, when the guest list is so contained. But if you are having a large wedding, try picking a long weekend. For example, President’s Day weekend. Make sure you sen
A. JAFFE has combined two of our favorite things, New York and engagements, to create the ultimate New York City proposal. Let this 15 day campaign serve as your guide to popping the question at 15 of New York City’s most iconic locations. The Battery Park Promenade undoubtedly delivers one of the best views New York has to offer. If the image of a tranquil esplanade glowing from the sunset paints the prefect scene for your ideal wedding proposal, A. JAFFE recommends proposing to your love here. Battery Park City is located at the Southern tip of Manhattan Island and faces the New York Harbor. When you look around your 180° view of the water you can see the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and mega yachts sailing through the water. With so many great nautical views, this spot has something for everyone! Take a stroll at dusk with that special someone, pull out your A.JAFFE engagement ring, our Round Halo Bezel Center Set Engagement Ring (MES057), and ask one of the most important q
Last Friday, Nisansala and Nalin set a Guinness World Record for their wedding in Negombo. The happy couple’s new record was set due to the bride having 126 bridesmaids in her bridal party (Now that’s a party). In addition to the 126 bridesmaids, the bridal party also consisted of: 25 best men, 20 page boys, and 23 flower girls. Each member of the bridal party wore embroidered traditional costumes in purple and gold colors, styled by Nisansala s sister-in-law Champi Siriwardana. It’s hard to imagine planning a wedding with this many people involved. What a huge accomplishment being able to pull it off. A wedding like this definitely deserves to be in the Guinness Book of World Record. We at A. JAFFE wish the newly married couple the best of luck in their new life together! To find out more about A. Which I never in a million years expected. I never (thought) I would marry again and I really didn t. I (was) sometimes lonely. I hadn t met anyone that I wanted to be with long term … So I just thought, well, this is my life. I m not meant to have that. And then, of course, the moment I d accepted that comes Neil. – J.K. “Love is a game that two can play and both win” – Eva Gabor Over the past week or so, surprise wedding proposals have been popping up at major sporting events. These types of proposals have been happening for years, but the recent surge warrants a trend alert. Each proposal was emotional in its own way; leaving fans cheering. We at A. JAFFE decided to highlight some of these epic proposals, in case you get the urge to recreate the same romantic proposal for your loved one. 1. Detroit Red Wings vs. Pittsburg Penguins (Dec. 14th 2013) U.S. Marine Lance Corporal, Chris Marr, planned a video message for during the Red Wings Military Welcome segment. While his parents and girlfriend watched the message, Marr sneaked in behind them for a coming home surprise. To add to the excitement, Marr got down on one knee and proposed to his girlfriend, Escely Arias, leaving everyone speechless with tears of joy. 2. Army vs. Navy (Dec. 14th 2013) Before the kick off of the 114th Army-Navy rivalry
“Here comes the bride, all dressed in white. Here comes the bride with the groom by her side.” Will we be humming the tune to this song in the near future for Mary-Kate? Nobody can know for sure, but we do know that she has been on the hunt looking for the perfect engagement ring. Funny thing is she has been shopping solo, narrowing down the choices. Do you think her “soon-to-be fiance,” Oliver Sarkozy will get the hint? The 27 year-old actress is well known for televsion series, Full House, (our personal favorite) and several movies. Mary-Kate started her career at an early age and really made a name for herself. Now the actress has her hands in the fashion world, successfully making an impact on the public. We know Mary-Kate has narrowed down her options for her enagement ring of choice. And we heard she has been looking in boutiques throughout Los Angeles. But we at A. JAFFE have a suggestion to add to the table. Rumor is, she has a thing for cushion cut rings. So our A. JA
A. JAFFE decided to get a perspective from an actual Maid of Honor. This particular Maid of Honor, Morgan Gray, is a writer from New York with a degree in media and communications, and works in book publishing. She wanted to reach out to a community as a creative outlet because of how inspired she’s been by the wedding planning process with her sister. And she chose us! We couldn’t be more excited for her input. Morgan’s sister’s wedding was in Geneva, NY at Belhurst Castle and went off without (or should I say with?) a hitch! Playing the role of maid of honor is a fun way to use your organizational skills to really make the wedding an epic and unforgettable event without all the pressure being on you. To be maid of honor is to serve as the connection point for everyone that is involved in the wedding planning. There will be moments in which you will be delegating tasks and asked to use your best judgment. One of my personal favorite tasks, however, was figuring out the weddin
