"This glossary was developed by the Comptroller of Maryland -- Revenue Administration Division. The terms in this glossary are first presented in English and then translated into Spanish. The second half of the glossary reverses the process. This is the first edition of our glossary. It is based in a large part upon Internal Revenue Service Publication 850 (Revised December 2003). We have deleted terms that we do not expect Maryland taxpayers to use, and have added new terms which may be found in the publications of the Comptroller of Maryland. The Comptroller of Maryland has endeavored to provide all of its income tax forms in Spanish since 2004. Our estate tax forms have been translated into Spanish since 2005. This glossary is a guide which we hope will assist Spanish-speaking individuals better understand the language appearing in our tax forms and instructions, whether they are preparing their own returns, or reviewing the return prepared by their tax ..."

"A garment is worn, of course, but it also presents and explains itself. Another way of saying that the words have their importance and each term has its own specific meaning. For 40 years, from Arnys to Berluti, the steps in tailoring a garment have been the same and the same expertise is recounted through this little lexicon."

"Review the classification and labelling of your mixtures!
From 1 June 2015, the Classification, Labelling and Packaging (CLP) Regulation will be the only legislation to apply to the classification and labelling of both substances and mixtures. CLP requires companies to classify, label and package their hazardous chemicals appropriately before placing them on the market.
The classification and labelling of hazardous chemicals is based on the Globally Harmonised System, agreed in the UN. Its purpose is to ensure a high level of protection of health and the environment, as well as the free movement of substances, mixtures and articles.
The obligations under the CLP Regulation are similar to the previous EU legislation; however, there are some important differences. An enormous number of products must be re-labelled to comply with CLP, including consumer items such as paints or detergents, as well as industrial mixtures."

"Urban Dictionary is a crowdsourced online dictionary of slang words and phrases that was founded in 1999 as a parody of Dictionary.com by then-college freshman Aaron Peckham. At the start of 2014, the dictionary featured over seven million definitions, while 2,000 new daily entries were being added. In November 2014, the Advertise page of the website states that, on a monthly basis, Urban Dictionary averages 72 million impressions and 18 million unique readers. Anyone with either a Facebook or Gmail account can make a submission to the dictionary, and it is claimed that all entries are reviewed by volunteer editors. Site visitors may agree/disagree with definitions by an up/down vote system."

"The Harry Potter Lexicon began before I (Steve) even finished reading the first book. You see, I've always kept notes and drawn diagrams and made lists about things I enjoy. I have blueprints that I drew of the Death Star, painstakingly drawn in 1977. I have a huge chart of all the episodes of Hogan's Heroes, listing everything from writers and directors to the gadgets that were used and when. I wrote notebook after notebook of detailed descriptions of Star Trek characters and technology. When I encounter a well-designed and imagined world in movies, television, or books, I find it almost impossible not to catalog it.
Like I said, when I read the first Harry Potter book, the Lexicon began. I started cataloging it in my head, noticing details, scribbling down the page numbers where I could find the names of various books, and so on. I started scribbling maps of the castle. But I fought it. Cataloging something as thoroughly as I tend to do is HARD WORK. It takes a lot..."

"The full text of the IUPAC glossary of terms used in medicinal chemistry
The objective of the glossary is to provide in a single document a consistent terminology and concise definitions of terms covering the various aspects of medicinal chemistry. This was felt necessary with regard to the rapid changes occuring in medicinal chemistry and also by the need to establish international definition standards. Effectively the possibility exists that in different countries certain terms may not have the same meaning, in such a case the creation of an internationally accepted definition is particularly justified.
A Working Party belonging to the IUPAC Section on Medicinal Chemistry has therefore been assembled which prepared the present glossary. Concise but sufficiently explanatory definitions have been formulated for about one hundred commonly employed terms which can be considered of particular interest to the medicinal chemistry community. The glossary has been compiled in part from definitions proposed by the Working Party in part from earlier IUPAC glossaries and in part from well-accepted definitions taken from the literature but which were sometimes published in journals or books that may not be readily accessible."

These Rules of the Game will take effect on July 1, 2010. The Rules Text, the Comments, the IHF Hand Signals, the Clarifications to the Rules of the Game, and the Substitution Area Regulations are all components of the overall Rules. This does not apply to the Guidelines for Playing Courts and Goals, which are simply included in the rule book for the convenience of the users of that text.
Overview of the changes to the Rules of the Game 2010 (Indoor Handball)
Apart from a number of editorial changes and necessary changes in field of reference, the new edition of the IHF rulebook also provides explanations for sake of clarity, which are to support a consistent and improved application of the rulebook. Based on experience in recent years some parts needed structural and fundamental changes. The following overview therefore is composed according to the significance of the changes and not in a chronological order.

Rules of the Game (Beach Handball)
These Rules of the Game will take effect on 8 July 2014. For the sake of simplicity, this rule book generally uses the male form of words with respect to female and male players, officials, referees and other persons. However, the rules apply equally to both female and male participants, except Rule 3 (size of the ball). The Philosophy of Beach Handball is based on the principles of “Fair Play”. Every decision has to be taken in accordance with these principles
