ASVAB and Air Force Jobs

ASVAB and Air Force Jobs | Air Force | Scoop.it
The web's only free ASVAB practice tests! Get a high AFQT score and get the best job possible. Get serious about the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB).
Tyler Mayer's insight:

This link is correlated to my previous post with the descriptions of the various jobs offered in the Air Force. This link, unlike the other, shows the ASVAB requirements to get into each career path. The ASVAB stands for Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery. This test is used in all branches and is required for enlistment along with other various documents, such as diplomas, proof of citizenship, etc. In the Air Force I plan to go into Cyber Security Operations, which requires a General ranking of 64% (Genreal ranking consists of a mean score between the Verbal Knowledge and the Arithmetic Reasoning portions of the ASVAB.) This link is also useful for anyone wanting to get a general idea of the requirements they need to get into a certain job. Although, they may not be 100% accurate you should still go and talk to a recruiter for exact requirements.

Tyler Mayer's insight:

This article is interesting as it poses a great question for the United States Air Force. What is their role in cyber security? The United States has by far one of the, if not the, most developed military in the world. We spend more than any other country in our defense budget. We have the means to be one of the most feared cyber threats in the world, but is that what were supposed to do? In the coming years America's cyber strength will be tested like never before. It is a morale question that will never appease everyone, but in my opinion, i believe we should be able to not only protect ourselves but be able to strike back through the cyber net. This kind of warfare we cannot fall behind on or we will be vulnerable in some scary ways. Whether it be our banks security, or communications.
