Sean Tay's insight:

From this article, it tells me the importance of not discriminating others and being prejudice. By doing so, the sinhalese in the article has managed to unknowingly be biased and therefore causes the tamlis in Sri Lanka to revoly against them, resulting in the loss of many and the bloodshed of numbers unsightly. Racism is a growing custom in some minds. This kind of sick thinking would only increase the hate and the equality amongst peope. I wonder what makes others want to hate others due to their skin colours and their religion. Why would they even want to discriminate even if they have done nothing wrong to them.

vengaadesh's curator insight, July 2, 2013 12:37 PM

From this article I can see that through the hundred years of conflict there were many riots between the Tamil Tigers and the Sinhalese. Due to the riots there was bloodshed. If the Sinhalese and the Tamils had sorted out their problems in the first there would not have any misunderstanding in the first place. Many innocent lives have been lost in the process due this conflict. However I think that the Tamil Tigers are doing the right thing in fighting for their freedom. However I think they should use less lethal ways in doing so. I wonder why the conflict lasted for such a long period of time.

Coven Chong Weng's curator insight, July 5, 2013 7:21 AM

From this article, i know that the Tamil Tigers and also the Sinhalese are always fight and many people had died in the process. I think that if only people would think in another way, all this things would have not happened. I wonder why there is racism in this world, it would be great if humans would not fight over their race as there will not so much war involving races .

Teoh Jun Fang's curator insight, July 5, 2013 10:13 AM

(See-Think-Wonder) From this article, I can see that the conflicts between the two races, Tamil and sinhala, is due to the difference in their language and culture. I think that it does not matter what race you are, as long as you live in the same country as the others, you are all together as one. Race is just a type of religion and everyone should learn to accept one another from different races and not dicriminate them. We should all show respect to their religion. Since the Tamil and Sinhala live in the same country, they should accept one another and not treat each other like enemies. I wonder if  there are no conflicts between the two races, how well-developed would Sri Lanka be now?

Focusing On Possibilities In Times Of Difficulty

Focusing On Possibilities In Times Of Difficulty | Ahah | Scoop.it

Sean Tay's insight:

From this article, i can see that staying focused during times of difficulty is a difficult and ardious task, however, if one manages to do so, he will be rewarded. Ones decision could lead to either good or bad. By doing do, they would at least be sure of themselves. I think that if we have tne correct mindset and the will to do so, i am certain that by thinking that you can do it, you will be able to. Sometimes, i wonder to myself, why do some people think negatively when not all hopes were lost.

Jasmine Tan's curator insight, July 1, 2013 9:30 AM

I can see that in this article, I can see that there are ways to solve things in times of difficulty, as long as one stays on track and focused. If one does not stay focused, it means that they will not be able to solve their difficulty and perhaps more trouble might stir. I think what the article says is true, the part where “Change, fortuitous or misfortune, is always accompanied by opportunities for new possibilities.” There is always a way out whenever we meet with a problem, it just depends on whether it is a good or bad way to solve it. But no matter what ways we use to solve difficulties, we always have new endings. I wonder if people actually realise that they shouldn’t just stop trying even though bad things happen at the end. It is still a difficulty that they are facing, so they should be responsible for their actions by facing up to the problem no matter what th consequence is. Although this “new possibility” is a bad one, but all the more they should try to solve the problem/difficulty.

Seamus Ong's curator insight, July 4, 2013 3:51 AM

This is my insight using the see-think-wonder routine. In the article, we read how life is full of uncertainties and how to handle difficulties the right way and clarify ambitions. From this we can see that the factors leading to realisation of reaching the possibilities are clarity and determination. these qualities, together with good insight would allow one to think ahead and thus realise that the possiblities are not too far away from reach. This article makes me think that it is possible for people or scientists, to discover or invent new things as long as they realise that the possiblities are not too far from their reach, The article also makes me wonder how the realisation of reaching the possibillities could help normal students such as my self.

Evelynkoh's curator insight, July 5, 2013 11:45 AM

There's always many different point of views to everything which is happening around us. Whether how good or bad it is depends on how we see it. Difficulties are like in the package to everything which happens around us and it solely depends on us on whether we settle it correctly or wrongly. We can also tell that everything that seem easy may also be difficult at times. For example , its difficult to concentrate on things when we have to therefore its by how you respond to it matters. You may just chose the easier way out that is to give in to the temptation and to give up or to resist the countless temptations which is being thrown at you to continue what you want to do and must do though its harder and tougher but the thing is , the more you suffer today , the more result you'll receive in the end.

Seeing Possibilities

Seeing Possibilities | Ahah | Scoop.it
You are today where your thoughts have brought you & you will be tomorrow where your thoughts will lead you. Engage in the future when seeing possibilities.

Sean Tay's insight:

From this article, i can concour that with the right attitude and the right way of how we perceive situations taht we are in, we might end up having different outcomes. For one, if you think negatively, you might end up having an ending for the worst. However, if you think postively, you might end up having an ending that would be better for you, an ending that works out better due to the fact that you have decided to think postively. Our surroudings determines the outcomes in one way or another. However, if you believe and have the right attitude that you would be able to overcome these obstacles in your way, you might as well have already won half of the battle. I wonder how many people have different kind of mindsets and how they would influence their ending.

Teo J-lyn's curator insight, July 3, 2013 3:23 AM

I can see that when people are awlays being exposed to negative thoughts and information, they tend to make bad choices due to their negative thoughts, affecting the way he or she lead their life. This cause people to feel demoralised , which will also affect the way they think. Thus, it is important to think positive, and see the brighter side of life. This will allow people to strive towards their goal, and have their desired outcome. I think attitude plays a important role in the way we think. i wonder why do people not think the positive side of life.

Jaslyn Si Jia's curator insight, July 4, 2013 5:59 AM

After reading this article, I realized that positive attitude is needed to determine the life we're living in and also the possibilities that we can achieve. Many people may be affected in their life due to the negative thoughts and attitude that they have, if they had positive attitude in all the things they do, they would live a better life and discover things that they might have never discovered before. These positive attitude and thoughts leads to finding even more possibilities and lead us to the right path onto our future.

Coven Chong Weng's curator insight, July 5, 2013 7:09 AM

From this article, i realise that with the right attitude, we can come up with all different kind of outcome in some situations. If your attitude is positive for everything, everything might just turn out the way that you want it. However if you have a negative attitude, things will not go the way you want it to and it might get even worse. Thus, i wonder why some people dont think with a positive attitude.
