The Namibia Economist.

The Namibian Agronomic Board (NAB) has reprimanded those responsible for producing and marketing maize products that a consumer lobby charged contains so-called Genetically Modified maize, despite a general ban on GMO maize.
In a telephonic interview, CEO of the Agronomic Board, Christoph Brock informed the Economist that the Board does not in any way support the production of modified maize as these substances are banned

Although some scientists have found genetically modified food to be safe, independent studies have shown that genetically modified food can cause health problems such as lesions in the gut, poor functioning of the liver and kidneys and decreased fertility, amongst others.... http://www.economist.com.na/2011-12-07-11-05-31/agriculture/2691-agronomic-board-condemns-genetically-modified-maize-in-retail-products

Former UN envoy Jean Ziegler on Third World hunger: “We Let Them Starve”

According to the UN World Food Programme, there is enough food in the world for 12 billion people. If today people are still starving, then this is organized crime, mass murder. Every five seconds, one child under the age of ten dies, one billion people are permanently and heavily undernourished.

Did a recent scientific study just change the way we should think about the safety of genetically modified foods? According to Ari Levaux at theAtlantic, the answer is a resounding yes.

 

The next wave of genetic engineering uses microRNA to control pests on industrial farms. But new research out of China shows it could have adverse health effects for human digestion.
