We Know Nanoparticles Are in Our Food, But It’s Still Unclear What Harms They Pose to Our Health...

November 1, 2012 - | EMagazine.com

It’s uncomfortable to acknowledge that not only are we largely unaware of nanoparticles in our food supply, but that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) can offer little in the way of specifics. Contacted for this issue’s cover story on the use of nanoparticles in food—microscopic particles used to deliver vitamins and nutrients, alter food consistency and preserve freshness—an FDA spokesperson admitted that the agency does not track which foods contain the particles, but relies on companies to voluntarily offer information.... http://www.emagazine.com/magazine/safe-for-consumption/

RSPB demands ban on deadly pesticides linked to bee decline

RSPB demands ban on deadly pesticides linked to bee decline | YOUR FOOD, YOUR HEALTH: Latest on BiotechFood, GMOs, Pesticides, Chemicals, CAFOs, Industrial Food | Scoop.it

Feb 21, 2013 The Independent

Controversial nerve-agent pesticides widely linked to decline in bees around the world should be banned, the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) says today.

More than 30 separate scientific studies in the last three years have shown adverse effects on insects from neonicotinoids, which are "systemic" insecticides, meaning they enter every part of the target plants – including the pollen and nectar which bees harvest.... http://www.independent.co.uk/environment/nature/rspb-demands-ban-on-deadly-pesticides-linked-to-bee-decline-8503950.html

pdjmoo's insight:

Common Sense and critical thinking do not require a Scientific Ph.D.   If these highly toxic pesticides and chemicals are destroying our biodiverity and beneficial insects, what do you think they might be doing to our human body.  FEB 23, 2013 MONSANTO's "ROUNDUP" IS MORE TOXIC THAN DECLARED PROVES NEW SERALINI STUDY http://www.occupymonsanto360.org/2013/02/23/roundup-is-more-toxic-than-declared-proves-new-seralini-study/ Could they be having the same impact resulting in Alzheimer's and other neurological deficits?  And what about the food we eat that have been sprayed with these poisons?  And what about the honey that these poor bees produce?  Is that contaminated too?  Time for the big global chemical companies to take responsibility for what they're doing to our planet and we humans with little or no disclosure, regulation or oversight, like gigantic ships in the night slipping under the safety radar screen.

OUR CHEMICAL-LADEN WORLD: Are the Bees the Canary in the Coal Mine for Human Health and Well Being

OUR CHEMICAL-LADEN WORLD: Are the Bees the Canary in the Coal Mine for Human Health and Well Being | YOUR FOOD, YOUR HEALTH: Latest on BiotechFood, GMOs, Pesticides, Chemicals, CAFOs, Industrial Food | Scoop.it

IN THE winter of 2006 beekeepers in America noticed something odd—lots of their hives were dying for no obvious reason." And the pesticide/chemical industry is still in denial.

Evidence is growing that commonly used pesticides, even when employed carefully, are bad for bees (and us?)

(It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that as bees move from flower to flower they are gathering more and more of these toxic chemicals.  Their little immune systems can't handle it and this weakness makes them vulnerable to all sorts of viruses and illness. Beyond this, we humans eat the honey they work so hard to make.  Connecting the dots could it be that the same pesticides sprayed on the food we eat be a cause for the massive alzheimers epidemic also? pdjmoo)

The Tragic Mistake That Now Threatens 1 Out of Every 3 Bites You Eat

The Tragic Mistake That Now Threatens 1 Out of Every 3 Bites You Eat | YOUR FOOD, YOUR HEALTH: Latest on BiotechFood, GMOs, Pesticides, Chemicals, CAFOs, Industrial Food | Scoop.it

The documentary film "Vanishing of the Bees" unveils the phenomenon called Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) and the real causes of bee death all over the U.S."

The danger of accumulated pesticides in the environment and the lack of USA federal agency oversight in favor of manufacturers's studies without independent review is a major cause for concern.  90% of food we eat is treated with pesticides, over a billion pounds of these toxic chemicals are used annually on the huge agricultural western monocrop farms.

Before releasing these highly toxic chemicals into our environment, a responsible nation would ensure that independent interdisciplinary studies are carried out to determine affects on both our ecosystems AND human health.

Although news about honeybee Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) has died down, commercial beekeepers have seen average population losses of about 30 percent each year since 2006.
