By the late 20th century, a knowledge economy began to take hold. Workers became valued not for their labor, but for specialized knowledge, much of which was inscrutable to their superiors. Successful enterprises became learning organizations. Now, we are entering a new industrial revolution and machines are starting to take over cognitive tasks as well. Therefore, much like in the first industrial revolution, the role of humans is again being rapidly redefined. My kids (now teens/young adults) have been playing this almost from the beginning and creating amazing worlds. I have come home to questions like, "Hey mom I am trying to script a trigger to make a portal open when a character steps on this block - can you look at my code?" The creativity this game inspires is truly stagering. The fact that it can keep this attention deficit generation coming back for more is a testiment to the simple but insideous genus behind the game! Delete the scoop?

Le Gouvernement du Canada a publié en mai 2013 le lexique des médias sociaux (93 pages, en pdf) qui propose une terminologie uniforme en français et aussi en anglais dans le but d’une facilitation de la communication entre le gouvernement et les citoyens. Lorsque j’ai choisi de passer le CAPES de documentation, je savais ce métier en pleine mutations et j’ai trouvé que cela était un défi intéressant à relever. Cependant ces derniers temps (depuis quelques mois) les débats et échanges se font vifs et nous ne sommes parfois pas loin d’une scission dans les points de vue et les regards portés sur notre fonction multiple et riche. Suite à certains de ces échanges sur la place de la formation et la mise en oeuvre d’espaces documentaires revus appelés learning center ou 3C, je me suis sentie très mal à l’aise et j’ai eu besoin d’écrire mon ressenti et de le partager, voici ce texte.
