Why Aren't You Delegating?

Why Aren't You Delegating? | Agilico - Executive Support | Scoop.it

Most business owners and managers are poor delegators, and the lack of either the willingness or ability to effectively delegate tasks to subordinates, is actually holding their businesses back and delaying the development of a broader base of skills within the business.

Delegating effectively, requires both the willingness to let go and the knowledge of how to manage the delegation process, so that the required outcomes are achieved and the business owner or manager can reduce their daily workload and be more strategic with the use of their time.

This excellent article, suggests that it is time leaders dropped their excuses for failing to delegate to their subordinates, and it explains how to stop making excuses and get on with delegating as a means of workload reduction and a key component in employee development.

Millionaire taxes hurt the masses, from Newark to Paris

Taxes on millionaires will always be cheap and easy politics, predictably drawing strong support in opinion polls. "Taxes you don't pay are always popular," says Christie, "but the story doesn't stop there. There are never enough rich people to tax. After they tax these folks, they're coming after you."

Worries about Europe, growth hurt shares and euro

Worries about Europe, growth hurt shares and euro | Agilico - Executive Support | Scoop.it

The worsening outlook for the world economy and uncertainty over Europe's bailout plans pushed the euro to a 3-1/2 year low against sterling.

"2012 is turning out to be a slightly worse year for the U.S., for China and for Europe," said Sarah Hewin, senior economist at Standard Chartered in London.

"We're seeing the three large regions of the (global) economy all experiencing below potential growth and, in the case of Europe, we think we'll see a recession for the year as a whole," she said.

How To Make A Big Mac At Home - Forbes

How To Make A Big Mac At Home - Forbes | Agilico - Executive Support | Scoop.it

What is this blasphemy? Giving up secrets to the public? Revealing the mysteries that could potentially keep us away from McDonalds? Showing us the dark magic that goes into photographing a cheeseburger or making a Big Mac? No, it’s just transparency. And it’s fascinating. And it’s fun. And we should pay attention.

I could mow my own lawn, but I use a landscaper. I could do repairs around my house, but I use a handyman. I could make my own Big Mac, but I choose not to. Is this because I’m lazy? Yes. But it’s also because I choose to do other things with my time. Today, smart business owners choose how to spend their time profitably. Some feel that futzing with a new server is a good use of their time and maybe that’s the case. But many others choose to outsource this work to an expert while they devote their time to selling or collecting or product design.
