Very dense article that highlights a lot of the key concepts for taking the lead to build a better future: from agile integration to digital aikido, using klout and openess. Here, "agility" is mainly used in the sense of overcoming silos, similarly to what is done in software development, when building cross-functional teams to work together with customers.

Got data? Want it to be memorable, sharable, and inspire action? Then grab this how-to guide for sharing a research report as a story.

I really like what the author has done here. This is a SlideShare with only 18 slides. But the example shared works perfectly. After viewing this piece you will definitely be able to storify any data you need to share.

Story on!

Write down, in order, the 10 Most Important Things you want to tell your audience.

These 10 things become short headlines on each of your slides.

Keep it clear and concise. Like any other story it should have a beginning, middle, and an end.

Emeric Nectoux's curator insight, April 27, 9:54 AM

The whole "Shadow IT" thing is not new and really is a reflection on how IT departments respond to the needs of their businesses. In too many cases, it seems like IT who should be in charge is waiting for business to describe specifically what he wants. In too many other cases, business is too busy and in hurry to make the effort of think about what he needs and express his requirements not through a given solution, but through needs and concrete examples.

This is the tail wagging the dog and really a forward-looking. Instead of looking for short-cuts and stepping on each other feet, one should focus on his part of the work, support in each other's with his own expertise.

Traits of Truly Agile Businesses

Traits of Truly Agile Businesses | AgileMinds | Scoop.it

Many organizations, in pursuit of growth, understand the need to be agile in every aspect of their business—from faster decision making to more flexible operations to collaborative ventures. Yet, there is often a gap between that awareness and cohesive action. The Accenture study on agility explores the common characteristics of agile businesses.

I collect books on all sorts of subjects that interest me and consequently I have a fairly extensive collection of R books, many of which I find to be of great value. Nevertheless, when I am asked to recommend an R book to someone new to R I am usually flummoxed. R is growing at a fantastic rate, and people coming to R for the first time span I wide range of sophistication. And besides, owning a book is kind of personal. We don’t need another Hero - Enterprise Architecture

We don’t need another Hero - Enterprise Architecture | AgileMinds | Scoop.it

This post starts of as a bit of a rant.   For far too long, we (me included) have been guilty of playing the “Hero” role when a crisis occurs.

Via Emeric Nectoux

Emeric Nectoux's curator insight, May 31, 12:48 PM

The problem with this approach is that we end up throwing away all the good work we did to establish policies, procedures and best practices in favour of an ad hoc, one off solution.  In  a “crisis”, we don’t have time and all our practices get thrown out the window in order to solve the problem as quick as possible.

Ivon Prefontaine's curator insight, April 25, 3:07 PM

Simple leadership is all about people. When we put people i.e. teachers and students first, we find we ask questions about their "whoness" and not "whatness". It is a little Dr. Seuss-like, but people are not disposable and replaceable widgets in a mechanistic ordering. They come as historical and forming beings, not doings.

Simple leadership gets the complexity of putting people first.
