Are Virtual Doctors the Answer for Ugandan Health Care?

Are Virtual Doctors the Answer for Ugandan Health Care? | African News | Scoop.it

earthdog58's insight:

Once again, outstanding innovation in Africa, overcoming a problem that the "developed" world might not even recognise.

Simple, straightforward medical problems can be diagnosed quickly by people better qualified than local health workers, and the correct treatment given in plenty of time, before the simple problem becomes something more complicated.

There are similar projects in Kenya.

Two cheers for gay rights in Uganda

Two cheers for gay rights in Uganda | African News | Scoop.it
The emphasis on gay activism obscures Museveni's human rights abuses
earthdog58's insight:

Museveni is a clear example of a leader who has been in power too long.

I could keep on and on about how I don't understand homophobia.

Can someone please explain it to me? Why do so a many Christians spend so much time thinking about it?

The guy in the picture above is WATCHING gay porn on his laptop! OK, I don't fall into the "all homophobes are secretly gay" camp* - but there has to be something seriously non-Sydneyed up in the mind of a homophobe who goes out of his way to watch gay porn.

*hehe - see what I did there?

Loan worth £54m withheld after Ugandan president signed law that imposes harsh penalties for homosexuality
earthdog58's insight:

The vacant  and bewildered stare of a man who simply cannot  understand that the world has changed around him.

This is why leaders need to leave office before they lose their connection with reality.

What else can we do to a man with such backward thinking? Maybe losing his personal percentage of that money will give him pause for thought.

Then again, when someone is THAT stupid ...

earthdog58's insight:

I don't actively "hate" Google - but I do hate the idea of Google being in control of everything.

Actually, no, let me make a correction: I DO actively hate Google Docs. One day, and it will be sooner rather than later, the last words spoken in this mortal life by one of my Googledrone colleagues will be "I've made a Google Doc for th..."
