Many know about Africa masks, but they don't really know why they do their ceremonies and their cultures. Or why they make the masks or how or even their history.They use the mask either in war,ceremonies,crop harvesting, and in peace and trouble times and more. They wear these masks because of tthe portin that they are res,bling or the warrior or more. They may even get advice through the masks from the ancestors.

Masks are made out of many materials a few are wood,animal skins, and vegetable fibers And plenty more.

Texture: if polished it will repsent healthy and beauty.

              If rough it will resent being dirty and evil.

Compostion: likes look similar to the opposite side. Looking nice and neat.

Techic: you need to be skilled,detailed, and looks fully done.

Normally masks look done and make the gem antic art on the mask. You can put a secret code on the mask.

 Cameroon mask is made out of a single piece of wood.It will normally have an open mouth but sometimes closed and will have full cheaks. Some use the cameroon mask as a head dress since it sympolizes plenty and privilged.

The Africans had ceremonies for the following: the dead, good or evil, sports,animal spirits,huntinghonoring the king,preparing for war, and  rights and passaging,  kings and more. What would happen in these ceremonies? There would be music and dance. The dancer(s) would go in a trance and communicate with the spirits and there ancestors. The dancer would be hard to understand so therefore, the wiseman would translate to the people.

The Mitsogo mask has :

A whitened face and/or mouth.

If has ears it will be reddish brown.

Nose will be reddish brown.

People who where the mitsogo mask are known from the mountainous regions of central Gabon.

The ngil mask is from the ‘fang’ tribe,they wore these ngil mask to scare new males of the secret society. An intresting fact about the gabon tribe wore this who  love to hunt and arugulculture.

bete-wore funeral masks to keep the sorcerers away
yoruba-wore the funeral masks for the spirit of the one that died. The one who wore it could speak to the person soul who has died.
