The reason why some people say they drink is because they need something to help them deal with their problems. This is just an excuse to cover ones own problems or mistakes or to "drown" their sorrows. This can link alcoholism to unfullfilled dreams. They go through problems such as physical abuse from an alcoholic family member and these problems could persist through generations as these kids become traumatized. These children start drinking alcohol and become exposed to other serious problems such as more drugs or physical and psychological problems. These problems can endanger the peace in the current family and cause tension as well as traumatize the children increasing the chance of them becoming alcoholics themselves.
