This article is about how the unrest violence and retaliation in Central African Republic may cause the country to be divided between religious and ethnic lines. There has been a lot of human rights violation in Central African Republic, committed by the former Seleka rebel and militia groups. These rebels have launched attacks on different communities all over the country. The United Nations have decided to deploy French troops to allow Central African Republic to retain order from the Seleka rebel groups and the Lord's Resistance Army. The UN also urged Central African Republic to immediately stop the ongoing combats. This is to reduce the probability of people from engaging in retaliation. Officials in Central African Republic have also requested for the International communities to put a stop to the deteriorating situations. The author expressed that if the unrest conflict and human rights abuses doesn't stop, there will be many people affected by it and the economy of Central African Republic would be in crisis.
This article helps me understand Africa that it is currently going to a harsh and difficult time. With many violence, retaliation, and human rights abuses that is causing so much chaos in many countries. I learned that the African governments are having a hard time trying to put a stop to all their major problems and also retaining order from insurgents. The article explains to me how the rebels have violated numerous of rights, affecting many people and also attacking different religious and ethnic groups. They would do this just because of religions or because the current leader is from another clan that have been their rival for many years. Countless of lives have been lost due to the unrest conflicts and many have to migrate into other countries, just to be safe and avoid having their rights abused by both sides.
I think this article displays a very serious matter with the non-stop civil war and the human rights being violated. I think that international governments should consider this as their top priority, because these serious problems can jeopardize the country and its people. I learned a lot from this article that during a civil war, what happens during that time, how many lives are lost, and how many violations have been committed by one side or both. This helps me think of what people have to go through and I think that military supports or peace talks aren’t going to help the economy recover. I think that the international governments should also support these countries with their financials too, so they could rebuild their damaged infrastructure, import food, and pay their debts back to the people. Overall, I think that this article is a very interesting and well informed.
