Summary: Turkey wants to turn haigia sophia in istanbul into a mosque. As of now it is a church. 

E: People may not come to istanbul because they are christian and wouldnt pay to come seea mosque that is meaningless to them. 

P:Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc recently threw his weight behind calls to convert the building from its present status as a museum into a mosque
S: Haigia Sophia will be turned into a mosque if Turkey’s Islamic-conservative government has its way

Summary: Hunger strike by four men wanting deputies to be freed because they were wrongfully jailed. 
P: The government has to step in and make sure these people do not die of hunger. They are protesting new laws that the government made.
E: This will cause the government money to change the laws and they will not make money off of the people who break these laws.

S: deputies are in jail and there rights were violated. 

NTK: Are they still in jail?

A: No they were released.

P: They hope to have no british combat forces in afghan

 

NTK= will the british pull all of their forces out?

 

A: No but they will not have their forces fighting in afghanistan.

Summary: NATO going to pull 84000 troops from afghan if the president doesnt sign the security pact. 

P: NATO is planning a full withdrawl from Afghanistan which would leave Afghan very vulnerable. The government could easily be taken over.
E: This could cause the country to go into debt because they would have to put money into there military. 
S: Incoent people could die because of wars breaking out between the government and the taliban.

Summary: Afghan will fall aprt if they do not sign the security pact to give them aid in many different ways.

P: Afghan will fall into chaos by 2017 because the taliban will take back over and gain power.
S: Afghans security forces got significantly better to help protect the people of afghanistan
E: If the security pact is signed the U.S will give billions of dollars in aid to the country
P: If th epact is not signed then 8,000 U.S troops will not be able to stay in Afghan and the taliban will stage a major attack regaining there power.
S: If the taliban takes over many inocsent lives will be taken.
E: without the financial aid the country will deteriorate rapidly and have absolutely no money

 

NTK: What is the status on the security pact?

 

A: The afghan president still has not signed it.

Summary: The injured troops are shipped off to Germany to go to a hospital.

E: The government has to spend money to pay for the medical bills. 
P: They are loosing soldiers because of injuries. They have less people to fight until they deploy more troops.

S: The injured troops get to be home with there families on christmas. They also get to see there friends.

NTK: How many soldiers have been injured this year?
