Nancy White's curator insight, March 6, 2014 3:52 PM

When students curate, they own the learning. This is my latest blog post with some of the highlights from a recent collaborative student curation project I supported in my district.

Mika Auramo's curator insight, March 7, 2014 12:07 AM

Kuratointi liitettynä esim. blogiin syventää opiskelua ja kehittää tiedonhallintaa ja sisältöjen suodattamista.

Nancy White's curator insight, March 7, 2014 12:10 PM

My latest blog post describes an 8th grade student curation project. Through curating, students experienced the freedom to learn about what most interested them, and to follow their questions in the direction that they needed to go, as they explored topics of the 19th century social reform movements in their social studies class.

Noam Chomsky on Technology & Learning

Noam Chomsky on Technology & Learning | Affordances & Instructional Use of Web 2.0 Tools | Scoop.it

As far as technology itself and education is concerned, technology is basically neutral. It’s like a hammer. The hammer doesn’t care whether you use it to build a house or whether on torture, using it to crush somebody’s skull, the hammer can do either.

Vyou.com & voicethread uses in a language classroom

Michael Van Etten (Finger Lakes Community College) presented a series of talks on the technology he used in his language classes. Two of the technologies provide ways for him to create audio/visual databases of answers that students can use look up an answer or to ask their own question which can then be added to the database.
