I supposed twitter can be used or any tool can be used for anything, but some tools are made with certain intended affordance by the creator that would make the tool less effective for certain functions. curation in a way is capturing things void of time (i probably drawing too much from museum), while twitter is fast pace timeline of interactive (or one way) discourse.... they seems to be inherently different.

i'm just automatically sceptical when 'one tool can be use for all' theme appear. but it is an interesting suggestion.
Bonnie Bracey Sutton's comment, June 11, 2013 9:33 PM
Many people learn one tool and then move on to others. I like to analyze each and use the best features of that particular 2.0 project. I use twitter as a push tool to share info for the most part.

How to Make Sure Your Brand Story is Unique

How to Make Sure Your Brand Story is Unique | Digital Footprint | Scoop.it

A Paradox for Telling Your Brand Story Never before have there been more channels for a brand to communicate with their consumers. From Facebook and Twi

Grant Barger's insight:

Let me count the ways... I love this article for the topics in the subject matter but the solutions are paradoxical in and of themselves. It continues to amaze me how people can have success as being branding strategists without really getting to the core of individual unique issues that surround the true paradox of branding. The true paradox is not the -what- described in this article it's the -how- that is prescribed as a solution. Telling the same story better might make you a winner once or twice, but then what do you truly have? You have customers instead of clients. You have sales instead of service. And you have successfully added another card or two to the deck for the construction of the house that you're building. Thinly constructed solutions such as these are not solutions at all... it is quick-fix rah rah bullshit like this that truly gets my ire going. The solutions offered at Advisor Crunch through our Take a Minute Crunch Time program allow our clients to see through the smoke and mirrors that are being peddled in articles such as this. Discover how you can build on purpose... advisorcrunch.com

How are eCommerce and website design linked | Articles | Knowledge Center | hibu | Digital Footprint | Scoop.it
The design of an eCommerce website is very important in achieving success in the marketplace.
Grant Barger's insight:

The three questions the advisor needs to ask when it comes to their digital footprint and website design... Does my site accurately convey my business foundation? (Purpose, Principles, Beliefs, Expectations, Experience, Expertise) Can people contact me immediately? Is my website in alignment with all of my social platforms? The antiquated theories that form the marketing concepts that most industry gurus accept as the norm are not in your best interest as a valued steward of wealth… Don’t  fall into the trap of industry hyperbole… define your foundation before you entertain any tactical concepts.

Marketing without the BS

Grant Barger's insight:

Great Landing /Home Page

The reason I feel that this is such a great landing page is because it expresses the components of the strategic foundation found in the first building block of Tangible AlphaⓇ.

It expresses experience, expertise, opinions, believes, principles and purpose. And it establishes expectations (behavior).

The individual who is reading the screen can discern almost immediately if they want to continue a collaborative alliance with this individual. And if you choose not to...that is okay... have a nice day... he understands that he cannot be all things to all people which is a critical component of filtering the noise in the digital age.

The format is obviously the written form of storytelling and it is done in a spectacular way. The author has taken it upon himself to discover and create his strategic foundation and place it in the forefront of his practice to create a filter for all to read. This is a great example of what can be accomplished by discovering your Tangible AlphaⓇ advisorcrunch.com . Although this individual is not a client of mine, he has discovered and owns the words that convey his authentic value and is illuminating a precise outgoing message that becomes a filter which also demonstrates his authentic value. This is a prime example of building “On Purpose” with intent and integrity. Very well done.

Grant Barger's insight:

Good advice from a doer... but it begs the question... what business is she in? Can she be an industry oracle and an advisor to her clients? You can't be all things to all people. What works for her will not necessarily translate into success for everyone. What is lacking in articles similar to this is the fact that she has built a foundation and clearly defined who she is... It is stated but not emphasized enough for other advisors to take advantage of her success. The missing link has always been differentiating tactical ideas and strategic tangible value.

Interesting perspective. Still top down thinking. The digital footprint should be about the advisor foundation. The forms of communication that need to be used have to be controlled absolutely by the advisor...and social media obviously does not offer that type of control.
