Another good article that I really related to as a media planner. It's hard for me to wrap my mind about mobile marketing when there is no ability to do behaviorial targeting... no ability to really measure results... and the inability to use rich media ads. This article spoke to me, as I have a hard time wrapping my head around the idea of mobile advertising from a media planner's point of view.

Mobile advertising prices rose dramatically in the fourth quarter of 2012, as the advertising season kicked into high gear.

While this shows that mobile advertising is on the upswing (and fast) I am curious how Q1 2013 numbers will look... I'm afraid Q4 numbers may be skewed with the holiday shopping season. Regardless, it's increasing and fast!!!

This is a question I’m often asked. It’s a valid one, because after all, mobile and online are superficially similar: they’re both digital, they’re both viewed on a screen, and they’re both data-driven.

This is a very basic, nuts and bolts, outline of how mobile and digital advertising are so unique to each other. Mobile and digital marketing campaigns have to be treated differently for several reasons... inability for mobile to use cookies, the different sizes of the two as well as different platforms.
