New Museum ABC is one of the rare spaces in Europe that is dedicated to contemporary drawing and illustration. It stands out for its vibrant cultural offer and its design by studio Aranguren & Gallegos.
Situated on the top of a hill on the west coast of Reunion Island. The back of the house offers a panoramic view of the coastline's surf, while the front faces the island's indigenous vegitation and green landscape.
For this trippy installation, artist Peter Koler was inspired by movies such as “The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari” and “Metropolis” where architecture plays an important role in evoking emotions from its viewers.
Countless fragments of existing architectural photography are merged into multilayered shapes. The resulting collages introduce a third abstract point of view next to the original ones of architect and photographer.
