As far as I can see in the video, there is not 3D milling only 2.5 (2 simultaneous axes plus indexed Z) at most.
I've just asked them if they are able to contour each layer in order to improve surface finish and dimensional accuracy.

Industrial 3D printer manufacturer, Optomec, whose offering includes platforms that print metals and electronics, recently reported its financial results for the first half of 2013.

Prototyping musical instruments is interesting. I wonder what new ones will be created and if the sounds will be different and if they'll be intriguing enough to musicians to make in more traditional materials. My musical ear is poor and it just sounds like music to me.

The FDA currently treats 3D-printed devices the same way it treats conventionally made medical devices, an FDA spokeswoman said.

The FDA's Functional Performance and Device Use Laboratory uses computer-modeling methods to determine how tweaks to a medical product's design could affect its safety and performance in various patient populations. Understanding the effect of these tweaks helps the FDA evaluate devices that are customized to an individual patient or group.
The FDA's Laboratory for Solid Mechanics focuses on how different printing methods affect the strength and durability of the materials used to make the devices. The lab's findings "will help us to develop standards and set parameters for scale, materials, and other critical aspects that contribute to product safety and innovation," FDA scientists wrote in a recent blog post.

One of the keys to reducing the cost of rocket parts is minimizing the number of components. This injector had only two parts, whereas a similar injector tested earlier had 115 parts. Fewer parts require less assembly effort, which means complex parts made with 3-D printing have the potential for significant cost savings.
"We took the design of an existing injector that we already tested and modified the design so the injector could be made with a 3-D printer," explained Brad Bullard, the propulsion engineer responsible for the injector design. "We will be able to directly compare test data for both the traditionally assembled injector and the 3-D printed injector to see if there's any difference in performance."

These people have developed and run a web based application that connects with depth cameras, those find on kinect, Asus, and other similar devices. They supply you with all downloadable drivers, etc. Once you connect your camera and their web you can start scanning.
Once finished you can share your model for others to download and 3dprint.

Brand, following on the heels of his Paper 1969 Mustang, decided to make one of the motorcycles he'd considered buying. To date, he's printed everything but the motor and one exhaust pipe. He says most of the parts have yet to be assembled and glued together.
This guy is making a big model of a bike, with parts that are going to be glued together. So, this is not "3d printing a bike", but "3d printing a full sized model of a bike". It is definitely different. You can ride the former but you will not even sit on the latter.
This is exactly what we call in Spain "vender la moto" or "selling a bike". We use this expression when we think someone is selling something that does not exist, or they are over promoting wonders that are not true.
