L'urbanisme tàctic es defineix com les accions a petita escala, a nivell de barri, ciutat, veïnatge, etc. que involucra una gran quantitat d'actors locals que duen a terme projectes per millorar les relacions i l'habitabilitat al barri. Trobariem tots aquells als que s'anomena "urbanisme de guerrilla", "urbanisme pop-up", "urbanisme emergent" o "reparació de ciutat". Aquest urbanisme tàctic, temporal, innovador i emmergent a petita escala pot convertir-se en un bon antecedent a planejaments d'escala major.
