João Filipe Ribeiro's curator insight, May 11, 2013 8:54 AM

Collaborative software development aims to produce highly creative and efficient teams by giving flexibility andempowering the team. However, in a Collaborative softwaredevelopment context, the lack of structure can damage the teamefficiency. The collaborative decision-making is very dependent on the team members characteristics and may become highly complex when the team members and stakeholder have different backgrounds. This paper is the author reflection on the Collaborative development approach experience in a context of a MSE Studio project. This reflection is based on the available literature and on the happenings of our project. What should be made when it is exchanged plan for coordination and alignment? And how to maximize the team motivation and commitment, reduce communications issues, reduce the coordination costs and avoid the team to degenerate into anarchy without jeopardizing the team performance and quality of the results?
