Uncertainty: “You will have missed something in the process anyway, see my totally different example here!”

Doubt: “You don’t have enough knowledge anyway.”

Video descriptions on important screen activity are available only to screen readers. There are ways to pause and start manually using keyboard commands. Angela C. Dowd's insight:

I signed up....thank you Valerie for sharing! Over the years I have learned that just naming something in an "Alt" tag is not enough...though there is so much I still need to learn. I once got feedback on a video I had designed for Blind Babies Foundation that was viewed by people with vision impairment and also by those who could only listen. I put a description into the video images, had captions and a script. What was missing was a description of the visual images that provided context and metaphor for those who were only listening to the video.

AEA Video: Scott Jehl – Interacting Responsibly (and Responsively!)

AEA Video: Scott Jehl – Interacting Responsibly (and Responsively!) | Accessibility Awareness and Online Learning | Scoop.it
Multi-device development is hard to do well. Scott Jehl is a pioneer in doing it well.
Angela C. Dowd's insight:

A presentation at "An Event Apart" by Filament Group’s Scott Jehl. This video is more for developers of accessible content, though it is informative for all designers as well.

Scott's travels around the world made him more aware of accessibility issues...awareness gained from "walking in someone else's shoes".

He talked about the need to make performance and reliability a priority and also about not being presumptuous about users. Long but informative.
