hayley blunden's insight:

Areas of environmental significance or sensitivity- There are many threats to Tasmania's wilderness and environmental areas such as fires(on purpose and natural), illegal activities such as cutting down of valuable timbers, drought, increasing tourism activities, walker impacts and many more. It is important as tourist when using the bush tracks and being in the environment that you treat it with respect and there are management strategies that are being put in place to ensure the environment stops getting damaged. One of the biggest threats to the environment is the wildfires and can be caused by a few reasons such as climate change and campfires. A management plan that is put in place to reduce the effect of a bush fire happing is a declared  ‘Fuel Stove Only Area’ to reduce the risk of escaped campfires.
