Creative ideas can help you drive your business to success. Brian Tracy discusses how to run a brainstorming session and encourage creative thinking.

The aim of the brainstorming session should be to generate the most ideas possible within a specific period of time.

The Dos and Don'ts of Tech Integration PD

The Dos and Don'ts of Tech Integration PD | AC Library News | Scoop.it

Of all the initiatives a school can begin, integrating technology may require the most professional development. This is partly because of the equipment, hardware, and software involved and partly because of the shift that a teacher must make in his or her teaching style, technique, and planning process in order to effectively use technology in the classroom.

Here are some basic "dos" and "don'ts" for anyone doing tech integration professional development.

Educational Technology Buzzwords

Educational Technology Buzzwords | AC Library News | Scoop.it

Education buzzwords have for a long time driven me insane as we spend our lives in schools latching on to phrase after phrase that tries to make us sound more knowledgeable without actually being more knowledgeable. I fear sometimes us “tech geeks” in schools ( definitely me included) are getting caught in the same trap as we move from one innovation to the next just to look more tech savvy than the next guy. This is a long list of edtech trends and pedagogies. It can seem quite daunting to the uninitiated and we can scare them off trying something really useful if keep pushing for more change.

Ivon Prefontaine's curator insight, August 7, 2014 11:44 PM

There are two intertwined definitions of education and only one is included here. Educare is leading students out of child. Educere is allowing students to gain control over their learning and realizing they have support when needed. We have eliminated the latter replacing it with the instrumental version called learning which is what School is about.

Des principes qui éclairent le processus de la motivation chez les apprenants adultes, avec une application concrète par rapport à la formation aux TIC

Raquel Oliveira's curator insight, January 27, 2014 12:38 AM

Nunca é demais relembrar os 4 principios da aprendizagem de adultos , segundo a teoria de Malcom Knowles;

Another criticism that I have become most sensitive to recently is faulting an educator for “not even being a teacher”. Not every educator is a classroom teacher. That does not mean they aren’t educators. That doesn’t mean they can’t offer valid information, or considered opinions. (I do draw the line at non-educators making education policy. That is another discussion for another bottle of wine.) Administrators technically are not classroom teachers.
