Technology is becoming more prominent in classrooms today, it is easily accessible and is believed to help students learn in new ways. The problem is that technology may not be being used in positive ways in the classroom, students may not be receiving all the benefits technology has to offer. In order to make the most out of the laptops, iPads, and iPhones available its important that they're used properly.

To use technology properly it's suggested that students have a guide such as a teacher to show them extra resources or to be there to further explain a topic. Students shouldn't use the internet to make online flash cards to do anything that can be done on paper, it's only a waste of time. The internet provides students with a whole variety of sources, doing things that would be done in a normal classroom is not taking full advantage of technology. Teachers should not use computers or iPads in class everyday to pass time, as busy work, students will become accustomed to the available technology and become lazy with it. Students need to want to take advantage of technology when it is available to them. Technology should be used to enhance normal classroom activities, branch off from the norm to provide students with a variety of unique ways to really learn and absorb the information they're learning. Computers and iPads can access online supplemental information for the classroom such as online textbooks, YouTube videos explaining the concept, other teachers notes and materials, as well as the ability to chat with other students in other parts of the country or world to discuss material. The ability to share sources and connect with others around the world may be the most beneficial aspect of technology in the classroom and it's important that students take advantage of it.
