This Site Wants To Debunk Internet Rumors Before They Can Even Start To Spread | AANVE! |Website Designing Company in Delhi-India,SEO Services Company Delhi | Scoop.it

You can't trust everything you read on the internet. But a real-time rumor-tracking site is trying to change that.

It's called Emergent. And it's the brainchild of journalist and fellow at Columbia University's Tow Center for Digital Media, Craig Silverman.  "It's aiming to be a real-time monitoring of claims that are emerging in the press," Silverman told The Atlantic.

Silverman and a research assistant gather rumors that are being reported, which usually first crop up on social media and are then picked up by various news outlets.

They enter those stories into a database, and the stories that need to be debunked are assigned a "truthiness rating," according to GigaOm. That way they can track which stories claim to be true, which ones debunk the story, and which ones are just re-reporting the original story. ...

18 Apps That Will Inspire Creativity In Your Everyday Life - Huffington Post

18 Apps That Will Inspire Creativity In Your Everyday Life - Huffington Post | AANVE! |Website Designing Company in Delhi-India,SEO Services Company Delhi | Scoop.it
Mobile devices like iPads and Androids have transformed the way we experience boredom. No longer is a wayward commuter forced to play Snake or Tetris, occupying themselves in a hardly satisfying, and utterly pixelated virtual reality. The tablet or smart phone-wielding travelers can now immerse themselves in an entire library of art and culture-related distractions, finding solace in everything from a Vincent van Gogh game to a digital version of the Louvre.

Just this week, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, a 140-year-old cultural stalwart of New York City, went the way of the future and introduced an iPhone app. Described as "exceedingly simple and modest" by Forbes, the move to make art more accessible is something we can't help but love. So, in the spirit of the Met's 21st century attitude, we've put together a list of mobile museums and art-honoring programs that will spark creativity in your everyday life.

Behold, 18 apps every creative and artist type should download now:

There are many things about Scoop.it that I love. Its Pinterest-like boards provide the headline, image and the first few lines of copy, allowing for a quick scan of content. Scoop.it’s suggested content is always spot on (...) it’s easy (and the integration with other social networks is great)."

Thanks much Stacy Firth for this description of Scoop.it (and thanks for the positive comments!). Very accurate.

And yes Marketers are the number one users of Scoop.it!

As a complement, integration with Wordpress, branding (up to white lable) and analytics are probably the most popular benefits of the premium plans.

Indeed there is a social component to Scoop.it: the community of curators is leveraged to discover content and engage with like-minded people. It's secondary to the prime mission (publishing-by-curation platform), but we'll take into account the remarks about upgrading this social dimension. Noted!

PS: I like the title and the concept of this series :)

Content Marketing: The Solution to the Mobile Advertising Challenge

Content Marketing: The Solution to the Mobile Advertising Challenge | AANVE! |Website Designing Company in Delhi-India,SEO Services Company Delhi | Scoop.it

...One thing we do know is that users tend to have a higher expectation for advertising on their mobile devices, and rightfully so. For many of us, our phone or tablet is the first and last thing we engage with every day, making the connection to these gadgets increasingly personal.  Because of this, unexpected experiences are not only unwelcome, but they can also seem exponentially more obtrusive and disruptive than they might otherwise.

Mobile content consumption is different from desktop browsing.  Mobile is predominantly an entertainment medium versus the productivity mode the personal computer lends itself to.  That being said, wouldn’t it follow that we should be looking for opportunities to present mobile users with entertaining experiences?

Yet the advertising industry has tried to make what first worked on the desktop work on mobile.

Consider the experience and functionality of the banner ad, developed almost 20 years ago for desktop display. Research has shown that consumers find display ads un-engaging; and .01% CTR numbers speak for themselves.  Now consider the banner ad, fraught with challenges on desktop, within the mobile framework.  With the device size, the banner ad creative is rendered nearly invisible in many instances; “fat thumb” syndrome causes users to accidentally click ads, taking them through a brand journey that often feels disruptive, not to mention the wrench this throws into attribution models.So how do marketers solve for the challenges we’re continually bumping up against in the mobile advertising ecosystem?...

Great question for debate. The challenge is creating appropriate content for mobile devices and creating content that meets the needs of users. In other words, valuable content gets results.

Does the discussion really matter?  After all, the iPhone will evolve as have the other smart phones. Some of these modifications will prove problematic, such as durability and battery life.  I suppose you should expect decent performance and durability for the price manufacturers are demanding for these almost indispensable devices.  Compare before you buy, and select the device that best serves your needs, be it Apple, Google, Samsung, LG, or any of the other major manufactures.  After all , it's your money. 4 Guidelines to Avoid a Fragmented Consumer Experience | Clarice Technologies

4 Guidelines to Avoid a Fragmented Consumer Experience | Clarice Technologies | AANVE! |Website Designing Company in Delhi-India,SEO Services Company Delhi | Scoop.it

Consumers today no longer see you and your brand in isolated interactions, they journey across devices, mediums, and physical locations in the course of accomplishing a single task. There is a thin line between the physical and digital experience today, as objects are able to exchange live data, thanks to technologies like the Internet of Things. Users have evolved through these experiences and raised the bar.

Consider the touchpoints in making an airline journey: first a consumer may visit the website to search for flights, and do an online booking. She may get the confirmation via an SMS, and details of the flight via an e-mail, which she may read on a smartphone. Next, she may check in using the smartphone, and choose seats from a kiosk at the airport. She may receive in-flight messages on a TV console once she is seated. During the booking on the website, she may come to know about promotional offers and upgrades, and redeem her frequent flier miles. There is a variety of information and interaction at each channel....

This is a review by Justin J. Ware of the success story of the University of San Francisco which has been using content curation to showcase user generated content on its website and increase engagement and traffic in a spectacular way.

We launched in March 2013 and after 9 months, we have now reached 130,000 views and 960 unique contributing sources,” said Listerman, Director of E-Communications at USF.

"We also measure (through radian6) the social media footprint in terms of social media conversations that mention the university name, and specifically conversations that include #USFCA,” said Listerman. “Compared to the same month last year, we have seen an average 168% increase in USF-relevant conversations overall and a 573% increase for the use of #USFCA.

Social content hubs are a hot topic for brands and organizations who want to engage their community and make it a conversation. But while the end result looks like a no-brainer, it's creating the virtuous cycle that's the hard part:

- encouraging users to contribute content is great but it's not enough;

- they will be discouraged if they don't see the value through top contributors being showcased;

- curation is needed to highlight the top content and create incentives for the community.

And above all, the system needs to be super simple as Justin highlights.
