In our public schools, students in lower-income communities are already given fewer opportunities than students from affluent communities. If there are drastic education budget cuts, the opportunity gap will only get bigger.

Technology allows students to become more independent in the classroom. But is the change from teacher to facilitator a positive move for the profession? Mike Britland is firmly in favour Via John Evans, Tom Perran
Ilana Rosansky's comment,
Yes. Technology in teaching serves the teacher and the learners. I'm not sure that that makes the teacher a 'facilitator' any more than s/he is already that! But it is a great resource and we are all enriched by it!

Delete the scoop?
