Curating and sharing stories should be understood as part of a knowledge economy. If stories are tribal currency, then curators are money handlers. Via Robin Good, gdecugis

Therese: If you look at the amount of shallow, uncurated and too-easily re-shared stuff you find here and elsewhere, I really have no doubt whatsoever (having dived into it many times) that the curator's work is much worse than being a scavenger.
To me its like going into a sewer or landfill and finding stuff of value that has been thrown away by accident. The amount of no-value stuff (self-promotional, shallow, paid for, spammy, copied from others, reshared without vetting, tec.) is right now so large, that curating definitely means having to dive into an ocean of s..t but with the interest and curiosity of someone searching for strawberries. :-) Delete the scoop?

Let's look at your digital footprint: By next year (2014), humans will generate 5 billion gigabytes of data every 10 minutes. By any standards, that's a whole lotta data. I'm imagining a pretty immense cloud here.

Delete the scoop?
