The characters are set in a given space and time. Shakespeare draws his material from a large body of social background, historical facts and myth : let us see the Greek background, the May festivities, and the fairies and spirits.The play is set in early Greece, in Athens. It is unexpected as so much of the play seems so typically England.This athenian background represents order and reason, all the more appropriate as it serves to emphasize the fantastic aspect of the forest.

When did Shakespeare write A Midsummer Night's Dream? Was the play based on a real wedding?

I thought it was Interesting that no one knows exactly when this play was written, back then no one cared so today no one knows. It says it was printed in 1600 but mentioned in 1598.I researched an article by katharine Lee Bates. with further research i found out that it was mostly written in 1594.

In this video it breaks down  the crazy love triangle between lysander and Demterius. I choose this video because I've always liked disney charcters, and it broke down part of the play for me into a  funny way. I understood the laungue a lot better than I had reading the orginal play
