The Alternative Medicine Cabinet Doctor Kathy Gruver Ph.D.

The Alternative Medicine Cabinet Doctor Kathy Gruver Ph.D. | A Fine Time for Healing | Scoop.it
Get ready to be inspired and entertained. Today's special guest, Dr. Kathy Gruver, delivers life-changing information in a fun and down-to-earth manner. She is an award-winning author, health practitioner, PhD, hip-hop dancer and trapeze artist. She is the host of the new national TV series, The Alternative Medicine Cabinet. But, her natural health career started, unknowingly, at the young age of 6 when she would massage her dad's neck on long car trips. Years later watching him care for her dying mother sparked even more interest in alternative medicine, life options and helping others heal. With a background in theatre and bad fast food, Dr. Gruver overcame her addiction to caffeine, artificial sweetener and meals that were eaten in the car. Now, decades after her mother died of cancer and 15 years since her last drink of soda, Kathy, with her 'Go for it' attitude, makes it a point to help others navigate the sometimes-confusing world of nutrition, stress reduction, natural health and mind/body medicine. Dr. Gruver has earned her PhD in Natural Health. She has studied mind-body medicine at the famed Benson-Henry Institute for Mind-Body Medicine at Harvard Medical School and is a natural health practitioner with over two decades of experience. She has penned countless articles, contributed as an expert to dozens more, appears regularly as an expert on radio and TV and has written five books. She has lectured around the world for everyone from nurses in the Middle East to 911 dispatchers in New Orleans, corporations around the US and teachers in her own backyard. She just completed work on a project for the military to create and institute a stress reduction program. Autism Epidemic Relationship to Vaccines with Professor Kent Heckenlively

Autism Epidemic Relationship to Vaccines with Professor Kent Heckenlively | A Fine Time for Healing | Scoop.it
Today's special guest Kent Heckenlively, the father of a child stricken with autism after being vaccinated who remains unable to speak, and author of the book Inoculated: How Science Lost Its Soul in Autism is no stranger to controversy. College biology professor, scientist and autism-activist with an autistic son, Heckenlively traces how the red flags arising in the true results should have spurred international concern, and considerably more vital science to spotlight what was really happening. Instead, the government administrators, so deeply committed to the idea that vaccines are the only path to keeping the world's people saved from harm--and Big Pharma--went into overdrive to bury the information and stem any further research. Heckenlively, furthermore, shows how bad science only compounded the problem, reinforcing the government's position that no connection existed. His premise is that the scientists who should have been following the facts to the truth, instead lost their way because of the fear of rocking the boat and opening the Pandora's box that vaccine-triggered autism would unleash. Kent Heckenlively reviewed some of the most damaging government documents with deep emotion as he realized that had the information been made public in 2000 when the initial indicators were surfacing, he and his wife could have made informed choices that could have saved his children from their struggles. Whether you already believe there was a government cover-up, that vaccines can be harmful to children-or you haven't made up your mind, Kent says that you owe yourself a listen to the true facts. http://www.inoculated.org

Anger Management with Reneau Peurifoy

Anger Management with Reneau Peurifoy | A Fine Time for Healing | Scoop.it
The image of anger as a beast is a familiar one. We have all experienced the transformation that can occur when the beast awakens; the momentary sense of power, the confidence that what we are doing is correct, and the overwhelming drive to triumph over whoever or whatever is opposing us. Regrettably, we have also experienced the aftermath of the beast gone wild; words and choices that we regret, damaged relationships, and a desire to erase what we have done. Some people respond to the havoc by locking the beast deep within themselves where it never again see the light of day. Unfortunately, the price they pay of powerlessness can be just as great as the damage done by their uncontrolled anger. Others go through a constant cycle of anger and regret. Today's special guest, Reneau Peurifoy, is here to talk about his book, Anger: Taming the Beast. It is a book for everyone struggling with anger. By following the lives of four people, each of whom is struggling with the beast in different ways, it show you how to tame anger and make it your ally instead of your enemy. After more than two decades as a therapist and teacher, Reneau Peurifoy has become a master at reducing complex ideas into simple, easy-to-understand terms and applying them to daily life. He holds a Masters's in counseling and is a minister. Peurifoy is the author of several books. To learn more about Reneau Peurifoy and his books, please visit http://www.rpeurifoy.com

How to Deal with Difficult People from Former Difficult Person Sarah Elliston

How to Deal with Difficult People from Former Difficult Person Sarah Elliston | A Fine Time for Healing | Scoop.it
The funny thing is that today's special guest, Sarah Elliston, never realized she was "a difficult person," someone who harangued people until she got her way, threw snip fits and temper tantrums, talked over her bosses and pointed out what she thought were their misconceptions. In her family, where she felt bullied, the only way she knew how to get someone's attention and approval was to voice her opinion-and loudly! Without standing her ground, how could she do what she thought was best for herself and everyone else around her? She wasn't intentionally mean-spirited. She was just trying to do what she thought was RIGHT! Until a kind, but firm, boss woke her up! With great compassion, and strength, her boss pointed out that that her actions had consequences. That in being "difficult," she was not only disrupting the office camaraderie and production, but impeding her own professional advancement. That's the beginning of Sarah's transformation-when she started on the journey to leave behind the difficult person, and become the woman who teaches others how to deal with difficult people. Sarah "Sam" Elliston is now bringing forth her vital manual on how to awaken the challenging personality, and change both the relationship and the environment with her new book Lessons from a Difficult Person - How to Deal With People Like Us. Elliston lays out a proven script for peacefully transforming the difficult person's behavior and the environment-or inviting that person to move on. She gives you the tools for a successful change conversation with a difficult person. Today, Elliston is a highly successful workshop leader and trainer, who offers wisdom learned the hard way-and through rigorous study and certification in many areas of professional training that aid her in her work.

How to Make Extraordinary Choices with Rico Racosky | A Fine Time for Healing | Scoop.it
Whether at the controls of a F16 jet fighter--or now at the controls of a sophisticated jet airliner, Rico Racosky knows that every flight choice he makes is based on one of two choices. He may make multiple split-second decisions as he evaluates the instruments in front of him that show the aircraft's immediate performance of speed, altitude, and navigation, yet each choice he makes ultimately comes down to a "yes" or "no" input decision based on just two choices. From Rico's point of view, all of life is choice and happens at the speed of choice--a perspective he recently shared at Harvard University as a "choice expert" thought leader guest speaker to Harvard Business School's Entrepreneurship Clubs. Choice is the heart of his unique and vital new book, Just 2 Choices...It Is Your Life, which is the forefront of what promises to be a global movement, the "Choice Revolution™." The book uses a simple, step-by-step system of thought that shows people how to instantly transform their daily, ordinary choices into those powerful extra-ordinary choices that create an extraordinary life! The 5 Keys to Unlimited Energy and Vitality with Dr Marilyn Joyce

The 5 Keys to Unlimited Energy and Vitality with Dr Marilyn Joyce | A Fine Time for Healing | Scoop.it
In 1985, when today's special guest, Dr. Marilyn Joyce, was at the peak of her career and feeling like she had achieved the ultimate success, she was diagnosed with melanoma. She was shocked to discover how serious that illness was, and as if that wasn't enough, a week out of hospital, she was rushed back in again with stage four uterine cancer. She was only 35 years old! Shocked and dismayed, she experienced what most advanced cancer patients do--denial, anger, resentment, frustration, and feeling like a victim. After she passed the initial shock of the diagnosis, she tried everything she could in search of a magic bullet. Yet four years later, she was in a wheelchair at 88 pounds, and according to doctors, with only a week-and-a-half to live. Completely spent, she had no energy for anything. And as if the cancer itself wasn't enough, the stress and anxiety of searching for--and trying--every new treatment available was definitely taking its toll! She was stressed out, tired out, frustrated, anxious and depressed...and in constant pain. With her finances low and not having eaten solid foods for months, she attended a home show that promoted a Vita Mix machine, introducing her to cantaloupe ice--seeds and all. From that moment, her journey back to health began, first with the inclusion of fruits, then adding in vegetables, and eventually tofu, soy, and whole grains - in other words whole foods in whole food forms - back-to-basics nutrition. The best part: almost all of recipes only took 5 minutes to prepare! Now after 27 years, Marilyn is one of the world's leading experts on INSTANT E.N.E.R.G.Y.™: The 5 Keys to Unlimited Energy & Vitality! which is also the name of her book.
