In setting out to explore new Scoop.it resources, I came across Timo IImoki's page http://www.scoop.it/t/education-technology-theory-practice/ ; Timo has shared a wealth of resources and it was an easy decision to follow.

This article is one that has a personal flare for me. In using my YouTube channel to share screencasts and student projects, there are times I need to make adjustments to uploads. In addition, I like to  share video editing tools with my students.  Thus, this tool feature is one deserving of being integrated into projects.

The world after Big Data: What the digital revolution means for us | A Educação Hipermidia | Scoop.it

Never before were politicians, business leaders, and scientists more urgently needed to master the challenges ahead of us. We are in the middle of a third industrial revolution. While we see the symptoms, such as the financial and economic crisis, cybercrime and cyberwar, we haven't understood the implications well. But at the end of this socio-economic transformation, we will live in a digital society. This comes with breath-taking opportunities and challenges, as they occur only every 100 years.

Blended Learning – Is it the right move for you? | A Educação Hipermidia | Scoop.it

Most modern organisations invest in corporate training programs. But in the age of all pervasive technology, BYOD, next generation cloud computing, is it enough to leave training programs behind in the classroom? Do you need to revamp your learning program and implement strategies that can enhance reach, appeal and impact? In short, should your learning program move to a “Blended Learning” mode?

le schéma est bien !

Matt Gleeson's curator insight, June 11, 2014 8:07 PM

True Blended Learning  is implemented as an enhancement of classroom or face-to-face delivery, rather than as a replacement for some of  the face-to-face delivery time that would have been allocated otherwise . Blended Learning is a strategy for learning reinforcement and enhanced engagement by revising classwork (but not just rehash and repetition, engagement with the material in an alternate or as yet unfamiliar scenario), linking and extending onwards from classwork into the "next step" of the material, and/or attacking the coursework from another angle entirely, linking to what they learned in class, and looking at it in another way - for example, trades based training such as electrical workers where there are important aspects of the material to be learned in both the practical hands-on side of the training, as well as a strong requirement for integrating these hands-on skills with a significant theory component. Blended learning can be very effectively employed in a scenario such as this, where the practical aspects are taught face-to-face and the theory aspects, and how they directly relate to the practical,  are taught via online learning.

A Powerful Way To Use Music (And iPads) In The Classroom - Edudemic

A Powerful Way To Use Music (And iPads) In The Classroom - Edudemic | A Educação Hipermidia | Scoop.it

"A few years back (Wow! We can’t believe Edudemic has even been around that long!) we wrote about an awesome video that was recorded by a classroom of students and their iPads. The song was such a huge success that it went up for sale on iTunes! Considering that when I was a kid, music class included me banging randomly on a wooden block with a small mallet, I think it is fair to say that technology has brought music class a long, long way.

Store Van Music embarked on a tour of schools in the UK and help the students create outstanding music using iPads and their minds.

Their stated goal is to put a stop to the 80% dropout rate of students in the musical arts. As you can see from their website, they’re a passionate bunch with some terrific motivation.

They’ve made another video recently, and within an hour and a half of the release, it reached number 1 in iTunes children’s charts. As of this writing, it is the 19th most watched music video in the UK. Talk about cutting-edge, relevant music education!"

As 10 principais tendências na educação a distância

As 10 principais tendências na educação a distância | A Educação Hipermidia | Scoop.it
