A Tablet Still Is Not a Book ... Not Yet | UX Magazine

A Tablet Still Is Not a Book ... Not Yet | UX Magazine | A design journey | Scoop.it

"A tablet still is not a book" is the title of this article, but must it be? I think we need to step out of our comfort zone and allow the digital book to evolve without trying to mimic the forerunner. I know that most users find it easier to use interactive patterns that correspond with earlier experiences and mental models. But I'm not talking about a single solution that should minimize the trails of frustration, I'm addressing a new medium with seperate possibilities that shouldn't be limited by traditional conventions. /Hans

10 Creative Ways to Use Instagram for Business

10 Creative Ways to Use Instagram for Business | A design journey | Scoop.it

A picture says more than a thousand words - let Instagram be a part of your marketing strategy.  Inviting customers to the company livingroom is a smart way to gain trust. Let them follow your journey and understand what is going on behind-scene. But be carfeful, consider your identity and make sure the Instagram will not have a negative impact on your brand. A fridge full of beers and a dressed-up dog might not be the right image for every company. /Hans

Four Environmental Innovations that have Revolutionized Architecture

Four Environmental Innovations that have Revolutionized Architecture | A design journey | Scoop.it

The green revolution has impacted almost every sector of the economy. Now, eco-friendly technology is revolutionizing the way we think about architecture. Every part of the architectural process is undergoing huge changes.

When people think of green architecture, they often picture simple modifications, such as the substitution of environmentally friendly materials for less sustainable ones. While this can certainly be a viable means of reducing a project’s carbon footprint, it is by no means the only way to make a positive impact. The best green projects are the ones that go above and beyond, completely altering the way people think of architecture as a whole. The following are just a few of the spectacular developments taking place in architecture today.

This idea is pretty cool. With all the pollution we have in the world today we need to start replanting the trees and plants we have tore down. Especially since more people are wanting to live in the big cities making the cities larger decreasing on our natural environment.

Moments that Matter ... Moments that Don’t | UX Magazine

Moments that Matter ... Moments that Don’t | UX Magazine | A design journey | Scoop.it

What makes certain people attracted to certain experiences - the moments that matter! Every product carries an identity, not only the visible one we are used to talk about in marketing terms, but an identity carried by the knowledge it's built upon. In long term, the common denominators will shine through the constructed surface and connect with the users, you can call it a shared ground. So, instead of figuring out what you want to produce, try figuring out what the users want to consume and create triggers of attraction. With this approach you and your customers will commit to each other in a natural way. /Hans
