Great way to show it not tell it and allow students to understand their own gifts and bents.
VATE is a professional body established to promote the interests of English education and to allow English educators in Victoria to exchange ideas.
We don’t want iPads to just become replacements for notebooks and textbooks, we want them to be objects to think with. We want students using them to mess around with the world around them and their courses of study.
The iPad has often been dismissed as a tool for consumption and not creation. I think this is a bit of a myth developed around thinking about learning as purely literary and overly concerned with file transfer issues and other "old school" activities.
Having said that it is a pity vendors have gone the proprietory route on storage!
